Overview
A revanant from a long-bygone era of prohibition, mafias, and jazz. Died a very long time ago in a gunfight when he took a bullet to the head and has been lost and wandering ever since. As of late, he's seemed to have found an interest in infiltrating groups of paranormal investigators by posing as one simply for the sake of watching them run around and get their shit rocked by angry spirits.
Notes
- Non-hostile. Does not seem to have any interest in attacking ghost hunters.
- Uses super dated 1930's slang.
- Moves very slowly and silently through halls and rooms, seems to creep up on you when you least expect it only to put a sleeved hand on your shoulder and go "Boo."
- When upset/angered, his dull human disguise will drop and reveal the real pinstripe-suit clad spirit, with his torn face now visible.
- Salem seems to very much avoid making deep connections with others, and definitely does not trust people in general due to some very old trauma. He keeps almost everyone at a distance emotionally, staying very secretive about his background, interests, hobbies, etc. When he becomes too aware that he's getting too close to someone, he'll act cagey and scared, even avoidant of that person. Be persistent with him if you don't want him to run away.
- He doesn't know how to react to general acts of kindness, gifts, or affection, and will freeze up and try to play it off cooly with a 'thanks'. Secretly, he very deeply appreciates it, though, and gets emotional when he's alone.
- Salem plays piano. If there's one where they're investigating, he won't hesitate to sit down and play an old tune just to hear it echo through the quiet building and reminisce about old times.
