Personality

Layne is gentle by nature and is outwardly friendly and kind. Though he displays a polite demeanor, Layne is inwardly skeptical of others and not very trusting. He's had trust issues in the past that have left him cynical and paranoid. It takes a while to gain his trust. Layne is protective and caring of anyone that gains it.

Layne is a believer in do no harm, but take no shit.
He's very protective of his sister and his boyfriend.

He has PTSD.

Bio

Layne and his little sister, Hazel, were orphaned at a young age due to neglect and abuse by their birth parents. While in the orphanage, he learned quickly that a lot of people only wanted him because he was shiny (part of the reason he has trust issues). He refused to be adopted without his sister, whom was the only blood family he had left. She was his everything, he was there for her when their birth parents weren't.
Eventually, both Layne and Hazel were adopted into the Nightengale family, with parents and siblings that loved unconditionally.

Relationships

• Mr. & Mrs. Nightengale - Layne feels genuinely loved by his adopted parents and he cares about them a lot.
• Hazel - Younger and only blood sibling. Layne is protective of her and cares deeply for her. While in an orphanage, he would refuse to be adopted without his sister. The two share a strong bond.
• Sherry - Older sister.
