This character I created for a horror short story concept when I was in seventh grade (12 yrs old). It was based on sleep paralysis and mind control. (Note I've never experienced sleep paralysis.)

One day he appears during someone's sleep paralysis episode. Right away he feels off, because he looks unexpectedly normal.

He appears as a human boy who could be around 9–14 years old. He wears casual clothing and has bright eyes that gleam despite the darkness of the bedroom. His voice sounds like the voice people have in their head when thinking or reading to themselves: utterly indescribable in tone, pitch, or quality. Just pure words. When he sits on the bed, he weighs down on the mattress like a person his size would.

He immediately seeks calm and friendly conversation. (He would introduce himself by name, but if I had given him a name, I forgot what it was.) He claims that he comes from another world that humans don't know about, because the only way to enter that world is to lose all of your senses. Therefore, anyone who has been there wouldn't have been able to experience anything there to remember it. (There might not be anything in that world at all.) This boy can perceive being in that world, though, and he says that he's really lonely there. He pleads for the other person to become his friend and join him there.

When the person decides to go back to sleep, it upsets him. In the following days, he attempts to influence the person's mind to carry out his own wants through the access he's gained during the sleep paralysis encounter. His main goal is to make the person take actions to gradually destroy as many of their senses as possible, such as vision, sight, and smell, through alarmingly violent means. Does he succeed in getting the person to join him in this other world? I never decided.
