A former Changeling. He asked Princess Luna to cure him of the Changeling curse, which had never been attempted before. To an extent, it worked, however the crystallized alicorn magic permanently locked his appearance the way we see it now, and it was not a perfect cure. Rather than feeding on love, he is now sustained by crystal magic. Feeling responsible for having created him, Luna adopted him as her son, and named him. They now live together in the Crystal Empire.
Nevermore has no hard feelings towards his adoptive mother at all. He is glad to be rid of the Changeling curse, and glad to have a home, a permanent form to call his own, as well as a name.
