Covetous Golden Demon 🎲

This blind wyrm prefers to live underground; its diet consists entirely of minerals that can only be found beneath the surface. They rarely leave their lairs in search of their most desired mineral: gold. If you trade them some golden jewellery, they'll tell you some very interesting local gossip..

Can detect gold by smell alone. Generally not aggressive, but highly dangerous if you threaten its stash. Able to extend its lifespan indefinitely, as long as it has access to gold; the jewellery adorning  it doubles as an insurance policy to be consumed during times of gold scarcity.

The more adornments, the more status each individual has within their  species' social hierarchy. Despite this, they tend to have an unhealthy  fondness for gambling among themselves and the other sentient races.  Quite cunning, but forbidden from telling lies due to a species-wide ancestral curse.
