Emery (The Young King)

Emery is a Royal Spirit that was raised by the caretakers of his kingdom. The Spirit world is actually very small and only consisting of around 100,000 citizens and an unknown ammount of animal spirits (known as pulpos). A Royal Spirit only manifests every 350 years, with a lifespan of around the same. It is not uncommon for the Ruling Spirit to Fade before the next Royal can manifest. When this happens, the power that makes a Royal into a Ruler transfers to the head counselor where it remains dormant until it can be transfered to the next Royal. In the beginning of the story, we get to watch Emery accept his power and become a Ruler, but the festivities are shortlived when the after party is crashed by Tainted Spirits.

Personality wise, Emery is a happy kid that loves his people and his caretakers. Lots of wholesome vibes. He's always looking for ways to help out. The kid is admittedly a little out of touch with real life circumstances, but he is well educated in the ways of the Spirits and humans (for it is not uncommon for a Spirit to decide to live amongst humans, or for Pulpos to wander amongst them as well). Despite this education, Emery often has a hard time truly understanding human social concpts due to the difference in culture and physiology. It's only once he spends time with them that he understands.
