His dragon scales are completely optional! Horns, whiskers and hair are not optional. He has three large whiskers at either side, six in total - at the end of each of these whiskers is gold feather like structures. Normal whiskers surround them at either side

Xiang is an illusive deity found usually in the mountainside and wilderness of China, but also travels to temples, shrines and other notable places of worship and peace.
This deity rarely shows himself to humans, but when he does it grants them prosperity, wealth and health if he feels the human is deserving
Small chimes and the smell of burning incense become present when Xiang is close by. Xiang will rarely shed one of his golden scales or whiskers which are in turn collected by humans and kept as good luck charms or keepsakes, and can be sold for large amounts of money
He has a noble, otherworldly presence.
