Hikaru is a ball of emotional energy packed tight into a small package. Other impims would describe him as hot-headed and stubborn, but honest and kind to a fault. He's not reserved when it comes to expressing himself, and generally goes a little overboard when he's excited. High emotions, both negative and positive (usually negative) cause a transformation. Tails form of spiritual magic that correlate directly to the size of his emotions.

General Tail Theory (Written by Hikaru, probably not scientifically accurate)

- Positive emotions are limited to two tails. Happiness or contentment triggers one. Think of a cat basking in a particularly warm patch of sunlight. Except that cat is me, and I'm eating my favourite meal of the day.
- Two tails will show up if I'm particularly happy, like my favourite friend (who I'm not secretly in love with btw) asks me to spar with him. - Negative emotions have no limit that I'm currently aware of. The tails very quickly respond to anger. The most tails I've ever had at one time is 6.
- I am able to contol myself up to four tails. Afterwards, everything becomes a hazy mess of anger and pain. Even afterwards I can hardly remember the events during the transformation.
- The number of tails don't just correlate to the power of my emotional energy. At the cost of control, I also become siginificantly more powerful with each added tail.

Ryoshi

Best Friend

Hikaru's best friend of a long time. Ryoshi found Hikaru, orphaned and alone, when they were just fledglings and brought Hikaru into his home. They've lived and grown together since and have an inseparable bond.

Shi

Adoptive Parent

Shi added to his gaggle of lost kids when Ryoshi brought Hikaru home. Unbeknownst to him, he would have not one, but two unwitting house guests to care for. Though he'd never admit the "caring" part out loud.

Akira

Lost Friend

When Hikaru was young, he lived amongst other orphaned impims, and was closest to Akira. Akira disappeared only a week before Hikaru left to live with Ryoshi and Hikaru has not heard of him since. He still thinks about him from time to time.
