Alex, Crowned As King

She bows to no King, and she courts no Queen.

Born to a lion who would refuse to be a Crown, he also refused to give his daughter up for death.  Raised to be strong as a male and to determine her own path, Alex is a rare solitary nomadic lioness.  She is a barbary lion and is therefore huge compared to the more typical lions seen on the African landscape as her people are all but dead.  Alex makes her living escorting runaway pride offshoots from their Crown’s lands and protecting them long enough for their cubs to be able to run and fight on their own.  From a distance, She looks like a strong male, and up close in a fight, she might as well be one.  Once her time with the pride is done, she collects her pay in elemental stones and moves on, not caring to form tight bonds.

Or so she thinks.
