Unlike most Court officials of the Empire, Venus is humble and open, and a favorite of the people. Having been born to the middle class, she is rather frugal although kind hearted to those younger than her and respectful to her seniors. There is a certain regality and pride in her that has grown in her years of being in the upper echelons of the Empire.

Venus was the elder sister of Melodie, and they were born into the middle class. Her younger brothers would grow to become ordinary soldiers in the Empire and her sister a model. When she entered the Empire, she worked in the Inner Empire Affairs department and was elected to life as the 5th Court Official due to her innovative thinking at a young age. Although being offered the hand of Prince Nathan Nam, she declined and the offer instead handed over to Melodie, straining the sisters' relationship. Venus grew to feel distaste for her sister's children and instead supported a young Yeowon when he first entered the Empire, teaching him the rungs of how to go from the middle class to acting like high class. She considers him a son and he considers her a mother although such a relationship is looked down on.
