Ophilia is the Paladin of Zircon, one of the highest rankings a chasseur can achieve. As one of the highest-ranking chasseurs, Ophilia is held in high regard by her colleagues. However, she is not as devout to her faith as her fellow chasseurs. Even though she is a good samaritan by day, her actions at night are anything but righteous.

The hardworking, dedicated Paladin of Zircon that the chasseurs know has a hidden secret; unbeknownst to the church, she is a cold-blooded killer who seeks to hone her skills until she can kill her father to avenge the death of her stepmother and stepsister.

BACKGROUND

Ophilia was born in Averoigne, France. Her father Josef is the archbishop of a church of his own founding and the captain of the chasseur, while her mother Noemi was a back-alley doctor. She grew up in a rural home surrounded by greenery and a forest that she would play with the neighborhood children in. Due to the town's small population, Ophilia and her family were quite friendly and tight-knit with its residents. In addition, her father’s sermons attracted a small, but pleasant crowd who would come to grow close to Ophilia and her family.

Ophilia’s mother passed away when was a toddler. Prior to her passing, she presented Ophilia with a silver crucifix, a gift she received from Josef after the two got married. To this day, it remains one of Ophilia’s most prized possessions. Several years after Noemi’s passing, Josef remarries to a woman named Frederica, a woman with no religious affiliation. She raises Ophilia as if she were her own along with Lianna, her daughter and Ophilia’s new adoptive sister. It took time for Ophilia to warm up to Fredrica and Lianna, but she grew extremely close to the two to the point where Ophilia couldn’t imagine life without her new family. Unbeknownst to Josef, both Frederica and Lianna are vampires.

ADULTHOOD

Shortly after her high school graduation and 18th birthday, Ophilia is asked by her father to join the chasseurs. Knowing their cause, she has some uncertainties about doing so. Despite this, her father disregards her wishes enlists her into them anyway. With no prior combat experience, Ophilia struggles in her first years as a chasseur. She starts to gain confidence in her fighting skills as she trains with her father, her weapon of choice becoming a spear named Aelfric.

Her swordsmanship further improves after the death of her stepmother and stepsister. Even years after their deaths, the sight of her father killing Frederica and Lianna in cold blood has yet to leave Ophilia's mind. From that day forward, she began to hone her skills as a chasseur to kill her father as revenge, starting by killing high ranking members of the chasseurs one by one. The silver crucifix, a gift passed down to her with love, now serves as Ophilia's weapon of choice for murder.
