parter in a small time dectective agency with edmund, a man he's known for a considerably short time. mortimer is the cheery one, urging edmund into uncertain situations that he doesn't seem to notice the danger in. he's unendingly optomistic, bright, and far more intelligent than he's often given credit for. he loves electricity and modern engineering, and is a tinkerer. he's comfortably gay during the time and connected to an underground world edmund didn't know about, and has large network of connections because of it. while edmund takes his vice in cigarettes morti finds his in alcohol (and while he has a high tolerance, a rather emotional drunk)
