About
Joachim is an art historian from Mondstadt, whose family was once rather affluent. Despite the death of his parents, and the following loss of money due to debts, Joachim still lives lavishly and finds art in everything he can.
Growing up as an only child of historians who were practically always traveling, Joachim found himself alone most days. His company came in the form of books and the paintings that covered his family home's walls. With this, he found interest in the art of the world.
Joachim is in possession of an Electro vision. The moment he received this, he become interested in the Electro archon, and the country of Inazuma. Though he is an art historian, his true passions lie in the island. Many people in Teyvat are confused as to why he would be so interested in the country with so much mystery surrounding it, but Joachim wishes to travel there one day to give thanks to the archon. Even with all his research, he is blissfully unaware of the conflict in Inazuma.

To put it simply, Joachim was never "socialized" as a child. He doesn't have many friends, but those he does have he loves dearly. He sometimes doesn't understand other people's boundaries, wondering why people often ignore him when he's speaking about his interests. He never lets anything get him down, finding that the world is too vast and time moves too fast for him to feel down on his luck.

Trivia
- Joachim comes from a Hebrew name, meaning "God has granted"
- His constellation, Lampyri, is a firefly. Its name comes from the Latin name for the insect, Lampyridae
- Joachim is older than Diluc, but not by a lot. He remembers always wanting to play with him and Jean as a child, but Jaochim never had the courage to approach them
- He holds theories about the other archons as well, but never says them because he believes they're overdone
- His vision is worn like a pocketwatch on his waistcoast, seemingly to disguise it a little bit

A friend solely based on circumstance, according to Diluc. To Joachim, Diluc is a very close comrade who he wishes to spend every day with. He's one of the only people who will listen to Joachim when he goes off on a tangent. They share a mutual respect for art, and Joachim can't help but feel proud when Diluc cracks a smile.
Joachim commonly finds himself in the knights' library, so he has become acquainted with Lisa over the years. He expected her to have just as much interest in the Electro archon as he does, as they share their element, but nevertheless, Lisa still listens to his findings. He finds it's easier to talk to her after she's had a drink or two.
Liyue is the closest Joachim can get to Inazuma. And, Zhongli is the closest source of information he has on the Electro archon. The older man is brimming with historical knowledge, especially of the gods. There's nothing better than drinking a cup of tea and listening to Zhongli's stories.
