Delphine

History

Delphine was born to two successful merchant guild parents in Seajewel, growing up she was afforded many opportunities— unfortunately they were opportunities her family saw as proper education, not based in her interests. A natural daydreamer, Delphine struggled with any tutoring, even when she put in her best effort, things like finances and sitting still through lectures alluded her. Making friends was an equal struggle. Both from having strict parents and her quiet, meandering disposition.

Delphine has always had a eye for the spiritual and a fascination with the Saints. While she doesn’t think of herself as a artist, Delphine will spend time listening to whoever wants to share about their local saint so that she can create a oracle card for her handmade deck. (The size of it has perhaps started to lean towards the ridiculous but given the chance to store part of it properly she will switch out her cards regularly)

While Delphine wholeheartedly believes in her ability to read people and their problems from her cards, she undersells her own uncanny intuition and emotional intelligence. Instead she thinks any “gift” for fortunes or advice is coming from the deck and not directly from her. Its easy to for others pass her off as silly, off putting or a bit dense. She doesn’t easily pick up on when she is being teased— often too busy in her own little world. She is friendly when given the proper opportunity, but when put outside her element she can become shy. Delphine is prone to wandering off, finding all sorts of things fascinating, both in nature and in the middle of cities.

Traveling frequently, she is extremely luckily to not have gotten lost out in the wilderness from walking off paths or to have walked unknowingly into a hole. This is due to luck, but mostly from her habit of picking up traveling companions. She is bad with money, and susceptible to being scammed but also has always accepted alternative payments (housing, food, a cool rock—) for her card reading and tends not to realize she has blown through her funds.

Design & Trivia

• Delphine is well versed in upper class etiquette, but if she follows it when appropriate remains to be seen...
• Very lucky, good fortune seems to keep her out of desperate trouble.
• Has been in and out of jails through out Scatterstar for things like "trespassing and vandalism"
• Surprisingly good at breaking out of said jails. Though she doesn't see it as any more than just going on her way...

The folk superstion that curios with different eyes share a link with another whose mark is of the other eye colour does not escape Delphines notice in regards to Janus. He's good conversation and a generous friend, though she can't help wondering what their connected fate might be, for better or worse.
