High energy and extremely loving, Mordechai is one to find a friend and stick fast. He
can be a bit of a flirt and enjoys spending his time coming up with new recipes for the
cafe he hopes to one day own. He has a few days of the year where he will shut himself
off and lock himself away (His brothers Birthday, and Deathday especially) but for the
most part he tries his best to stay strong and face every day with a determined smile.
Backstory:
Mordechai was born after his family moved to America, and he remembers when he was
very young watching his father teach Xavier how to fence. Xavier would often carry him
around on his shoulders when the family would go out places, and the brothers were
extremely close. Growing up Mordechai knew nothing of their home in Israel except what
their parents told him, so when his brother was given a scholarship he was extremely
excited to go with them to Israel and see the country his family had lived in for so many
years. They were staying with their grandparents, and Mo grew bored of sitting inside listening
to his grandparents talk on the phone in a language he had yet to learn. He begged his brother
to go out with him on a walk. He didn't listen to his grandparents when they warned him that
Israel was a volatile place, and they went out anyway. There was an attack on the part of the
city they were in. After a yell, Mordechai was shocked, watching as his brother sprinted down
the street, and in a flash he was gone. His body urged him to run, but another blast left him in
searing pain, legs burned off from the knees down. After the perpetrators were sent away, Mo
was carried home by a kind older woman, and he carried the dreadful news of his brothers death.
Since then he has spent his time working hard to make something of himself. He didn't let his
disability stop him, and he trained every day to run track on a professional level, often daydreaming
that one day he may be allowed to run in the olympics, though he doubts it will happen. He was given
a scholarship for track, and is attending school for his masters in business, hoping to one day
open a cafe and calling it Xavi's Place in honor of his brother.
- He is so very gay.
- His first drink idea for his cafe was sparked by someone horribly mispronouncing his name. It is called the Morde-Chai and will be his cafes signature chai latte, which has hints of cinnamon. He also has Morde-Chai muffins he makes from time to time.
- He knows that his brother is still out there, and can sometimes catch a glimpse of him from the corner of his eye as he watches over him.
- He rarely gets enough sleep due to night terrors, and loud noises (I.E Books suddenly dropping, thunder, cannon blasts, pots being banged together, etc.) will leave him in a panicked state.
- He cries extremely easily.
- He buys a ticket to every one of his meets for his brother, his teammates often tease him for it.
