›› Alexia has big blue-gray eyes, thick long lashes, long pointy nose, gap between the front teeth, that are big enough to keep her lips slightly open. She has dark brown, almost black hair, that is messily cut to shoulder length, with straight-ish bangs, and usually on a high ponytail.
›› She's small, short (154cm), thin – bird-like in her human form too. She has bags under her eyes and she looks like she hasn't slept well in years – which is not that far from the truth. She bruises easily, and even the slightest blush shows immediately.
›› Her left hand is missing two fingers, and she often wears gloves to hide it. The cut fingers translate into missing flight feathers in her bird form.
›› Back in the real world Alexia liked to wear smart and fashionable clothing – dresses, high heels, jackets – but in Torni she's had to be content with whatever rags she can get her hands on.
›› For the longest time she only wore the dirty yellow jumpsuit, with holes on both knees and a tear on the right arm, that she came into Torni with. She didn't even have any shoes as those got stolen.
›› But after she and Panda seized a cabin, her wardrobe got a bit bigger, and now she usually wears a black oversized hoodie, dark jeans with holes on them, a white top, a faded black fraying t-shirt, and underwear. She still doesn't own any socks or a bra.
›› When she got a job at Torni's kitchen, she finally could buy herself some shoes – a pair of brown slippers to be exact. And then a bit later a pair of gloves to hide her cut fingers – which she is quite insecure about, but also because the missing fingers makes it easy for anyone to deduce that her animal form is some kind of harmless bird instead of something more fearsome or dangerous, like a venomous snake or the like.
›› Alexia used to live in a penthouse apartment. Sometimes, at night, she jumped from her window and soared far over the smog and the lights to see the stars and feel the clear night air on her feathers.
›› She can never fly again, because her fingers were cut to prevent just that. They took both her literal and metaphorical freedom.
›› She is right-handed.
›› She once dyed a red streak in her hair and wondered if it was too on the nose. (as black woodpeckers are black with a streak of red on the head)
›› Her siblings are unofficially called Dyslexia and Echio.
›› As a child Alexia played the piano for a few months before getting bored of it and moving on to some other hobby.
›› Her favourite food? is tomatoes.
›› Most of the presents for birthdays and holidays from her parents were just money, never actual thought out gifts.

›› Alexia is pessimistic, distrustful and gets mad and/or takes offense easily. Especially when she's angry, Alexia is very careless with her words and she often (over)reacts by being very mean. Although her time in Torni has taught her to watch her words a bit.
›› It's clear that she used to be rich, priviledged and popular, and the fall from grace has not been easy. In the real world Alexia had everything, in Torni she has nothing.
›› She cries super easily, she can hold a grudge for a very long time, and she's very stubborn.
›› When she feels very happy and content, she turns into a black woodpecker. She used to be able to control the shift almost perfectly, but nowadays it's been hard to dig up any happy feelings and she has started to believe she can never shift again.
›› Alexia was born to loving – and extremely rich – parents and was wery well off since birth. She was the youngest of three and the apple of the whole family's eye. There weren't many difficulties in her path, and if there ever were to be, her parents and older siblings would clear them out of the way before Alexia had a chance to even worry about it.
›› She noticed her shifting ability quite young and was smart and lucky enough that no outsiders ever found out. At least part of her family definitely knew, but luckily no one of them wanted to report her.
›› Alexia didn't take her animal form very often, but sometimes she just had to go fly around a little. She was careful, only did it at night and when no one was watching, and her secret was safe for a long time.
›› Until it wasn't.
›› It was one of her siblings who finally reported her, though Alexia never knew that. For her, one day there just were two officials knocking on her door. And just like that she was caught, two her fingers were cut off, she was dropped in Torni, and life turned to shit.

Alexia was friends with Pandora's twin sister on the outside, but never really paid attention to Panda. Their start in Torni was... rough, but little by little it's gotten better and now they are... friends? Panda makes Alexia feel almost safe and the only two times she's turned after getting captured has been when with Panda.
Panda is the only bright spot in the horrible hell that is Torni and Aly kinda wants to kiss her, but somehow they still always end up fighting.

Alexia didn't know Helgi was a shifter when they were friends in school, on the outside. Hel coming to Torni was a surprise. It's been tough to try to fit a piece of her old life – a friend from the real world – to her new horrible life in Torni.

A dystopian future where some people, shifters, turn into animals when they feel certain feelings. They are deemed dangerous by the Society and if they are caught they are locked up in a prison tower Sopeuttamislaitos 52, more simply known as Torni + where they supposedly should learn to control their shapeshifting.
In reality it's more like a prison with no guards and no contact with the outside world. No one has ever been let out. Over the years Torni has developed it's own society with its own jobs and gangs and customs.
Alexia has been in Torni for about 2 years.
›› New Start †
(lit. the tower)
Torni consists of twelve floors. The first floor, a lobby or a plaza of sorts, where shipments of supplies and new prisoners arrive in big storage containers. The second floor, the rec room, has everything you need to pass the time from instruments to a gym. The third and ninth floors are dedicated to bazaar-like marketplaces.
4th, 5th and 6th floors are filled with small living quarters, called cabins. Since there aren't nearly enough of them for everyone, usually the way to get one is to forcibly evict the previous owners.
The seventh floor, Fortuna, is the area for showers, saunas and pools – and prostitution. The eight floor, Ruokala, is the dining hall where everyone gets one free daily meal. The tenth floor, Pimeä, is the carbage dump floor of Torni – but there is also a theatre room that has a small stage and projector for watching films (mostly propaganda and useless how-to videos).
The eleventh floor, the Luxury floor, and the roof above it, the Garden, are accessible only for the Leader and their gang.
Below all of these are the Cellar floor, which has the Infirmary, and even below that is a half-built parking carage.
