A weak young foundling once discovered at the hamlet's doorstep, Virven was taken in and brought up in a circle of druids in charge of the place. He was eventually introduced to a trial upon reaching adulthood. The young disciples have to complete their journey into maturity to fully prove themselves as skilled druids and they would traverse across the Feywild to reach the highest Archfey at the end of their quest.

Virven's journey took a step in the wrong direction, however. Slowly but surely he's lost his way. He encounters a frail-looking woman, an old hag offering help and shelter, skill and wisdom far greater than his peers'. Tempted, Virven accepts being taken under her wing in desperation. The only way he can repay the people who took him in is by completing this trial and making them proud.

The sneaky old hag reveals herself to be one of the Dark Archfey, the legendary Baba Yaga. Her promise stands but she will want something in return, sooner or later. She sends him on his way with some newly acquired skill. Virven safely returns back to his community, praised and celebrated upon the trial's completion. His lying doesn't last long. He can't fool anyone with that level of skill, his magic seems off and his peers grow more and more suspicious until proven right.

The consequences of his actions are devastating for Virven, good intentions or not, people know better than to pact with the dark.
