An overly-studious university student, Mariam is smart, hard working and focused. Despite how uptight she may seem, she can be funny if the situation calls for it. As a political science major, she's nearly always studying, and pulling all-nighters is nothing new for her. Despite being the younger sister to Benji, she often finds herself acting a little older than him-- but she doesn't mind that. Her academic accomplishments are nothing short of admirable… but how long can she keep it up?

Mariam's childhood was fairly easy for a child of her intelligence. Despite being the younger sibling, she was hailed as the favourite child as opposed to her brother Benji.
Despite that, though, she cared a lot for him. She didn't see him for his intelligence-- she saw him as her brother, and she didn't take kindly to people mistreating him.
Mariam continued to excel in her classes throughout high school, even after moving from Egypt to England when she was 10. Her small grasp on English may have put a bit of a damper on it, but she was smart and determined to show it.
She was also introduced to the concept of being LGBT in high school, seeing some girls identify as lesbians and realizing that she could do that too. She came out to her family when she was 17, and her parents were only supportive to an extent. However, Benji always showed her support no matter what.
Now, in her adulthood, she lives in an apartment with her brother while studying in university. Her family is ecstatic for her to be pursuing such an intelligent major in her higher education (but often neglect to ask her about her personal life).
She's very supportive of her brother's gaming career, and has found a couple of good friends (and someone who she's got a bit of a crush on) in her adult life. Her life is more of a focus on her now, and she feels less as though she has to live up to people's expectations.
Benji is Mariam's brother, who she cares for tremendously. She's always tried her best to engage with his hobbies, especially his interest in gaming-- even if she herself isn't very good at it.
Kazim is Mariam's friend, whom she met entirely by chance through them both studying in the same café. Kazim helped Mariam come out of her shell a little and get over her debilitating shyness.
Naomi is one of Benji's friends, who Mariam knows through him. Since she developed romantic feelings for her, she's become unable to tease Benji about his crush on Kazim, which dissapoints her greatly.
