Despite being athletic and fairly popular at school, Gem maintains a friendly and inviting personality. He has trouble taking things seriously, including his studies, and would rather spend time flirting with girls and out partying. Gem is also hardworking and has been taking care of himself since he turned 18 years old and moved out of his father's house.
Growing up in the rural village of Khlong Yai, Gem was the lone child to a fisherman single-father. Gem spent all of his time with his father, often accompanying him on fishing trips when no one was available to babysit. The two became exceptionally close over time. For fun, Gem would spend time with other local children and go swimming, visit markets, and get meals at restaurants. While his childhood was unremarkable, the small community was a peaceful place to grow up.
Once graduating high school, Gem decided to put aside rural living and move to Bangkok to attend University. He had begun saving money he earned from helping his father on fishing trips and put that money towards being able to afford his own appartment in the city. He studies Sports Medicine, swims, and plays basketball when at University. His grades were supbar and he often prioritized partying and having a good time over his studies. One night, after returning late from a night of partying, he found a stray kitten wandering around his building. He decided to take the cat in and keep her as a companion due to feeling lonely living alone.
Gem, despite constantly flirting with girls, had remained single for 20 years. After being reluctantly paired with a fashionable photography major for a group project in their Chinese class, his love life would change forever. Upset he missed the opportunity to be paired up with a cute girl from the class, things begin to change as the relationship between the two boys begins to grow. As they spend more time together and blossom their friendship, Gem finds himself catching feelings for the other- an unfathomable experience. Gem is determined to keep the developing relationship a secret, especially from his father, who he believes will be unaccepting of the couple.

Gem's boyfriend. They first met through taking Chinese as an elective class. They were brought together by force and had fairly unfavourable preconceived notions of one another. After getting to know one another and spending more time together, things fell together naturally.
Duan was one of the first people that Gem became close to on the University campus. His calm and collected personality perfectly contrasted Gem's cheeky and flirtatious one. He relies heavily on Duan when dealing with various problems.
