a self-assembled collection of crows researching a strange patch of woods.
oxygen is a long-time employee at PH and still working hard despite the fact that xer base laboratory teleported away a few weeks ago. xe has temporarily set up a living space in the attic of the town’s library, though it’s less of a home and more of a hoard consisting of photos, notes, and newspapers.
xe stitched xerself together a while back and changed xer name to just oxygen. xe also seems connected to all other crows in town and can see, hear, & speak through them if desired. it’s unclear if there are separate consciouses; xer heads typically speak and react in unison, but don't necessarily have to.
xe made a deal with monarch that allows xem to study the forest and cryptids within to gather further data on collections of synergetic creatures. the trust between them is weak at best, but oxygen does not go back on a promise and has successfully driven most wanderers away from the woods.
xe is consumed by xer job and prefers to work alone, but is inherently warmhearted. xe does xer best to help out others xe comes across, as long as it doesn’t severely interfere with xer work.
even before the building moved, oxygen never interacted closely with other employees aside from mantid, who xe spends the most time with when not isolated. xe is loosely aware of others in xer enigmatic sciences branch, but not many.

xer heads are random, as long as the main / largest one has a white streak in xer feathers.
xer markings can be a blended gradient or solid blocks of color. xe is grey, but the exact tint depends on the lighting.
xer bottom half is obscured by long feathers.
