Bubbly & Kind You'll rarely see Florin without a smile on her face and a zest for life itself, and she'll do her best to make sure you're having a good time too.
Dutiful While away from home, she has not forgotten her purpose: becoming a wise and powerful druid to protect everyone at home and Khorvaire as a whole. Of course, she takes her pirating duties very seriously as well!
Insecure Florin is constantly worried about living up to the responsibilities she has to become someone capable and worthy of protecting others. Even if she is one of the most powerful druids, she won't rest until she truly feels like it.
Gullible Having only the utmost faith in everyone, she's quick to trust that you only have her best intentions in mind as she does for you.
Nosey Prone to sticking her nose where it shouldn't be. Absolutely loves gossip and WILL dig for it. Has definitely tried to join the thieves guild for information.
Likes
Everyone Florin truly loves life itself and everyone who inhabits this world. Her friends, family, aquaintences, and even friends she hasn't met yet are people/plants/animals that she is grateful for every day.
Travelling Holds an insatiable wanderlust. Her dream is to live most of her life happy sightseeing the world and learning about everything it has to offer.
Dragonchess A hobby she picked up from a late fellow druid and friend. Florin doesn't present as someone particularly intellegent, but she's surprisingly good at this game!
Gossip & Romance The complexities of relationships between others has always been a deep fascination for Florin. She IS the proud creator and owner of the Wicked Spinster Relationship Chart.
Cooking A skill she learned from her father growing up and one she continues to hone even away from home. She has won several (informal) cooking and baking competitions and continues to strive to be the best in Khorvaire!
Story
- Since she was young, Florin had an immense interest in animals and plant life. She would document all she could and explored the forests near her tavern home as often as possible.
- Florin was recruited at 5 years old to begin her training as a druid due to her incredibly strong connections with nature. From the beginning, she was very powerful. Her parents went to visit Greenheart for vacation. In that time, Florin snuck out and found her way to the Great Druid Tree Oalian. He saw potential in her.
- After meeting the great druid she quickly became a druidic trainee with her parent's permission. Expectations were high. Not only did she have Oalian's faith, but she was a dragonmarked halfling with power far beyond anyone her age. Even so, she struggled with her confidence during all of her schooling. She felt like she could never be what everyone wanted her to be. She could ask the earth to give her power, but talking to people? Making meaningful conversation? Having friends? The only company she could comfortably speak with were the animals. She often buried herself in her studies to exceed expectations, keeping her worries to herself.
- At 14 years old, Florin was assigned to be the druidic councilor of Mossmantle. She was the youngest person to ever be assigned the position, and the first halfling to hold the title. She was more than comfortable reading the land and knowing what it needed. She could wield powers that shaped the land and summon protectors to aid her. Yet, she didn't know how to get along with her neighbors, nor was she certain that she could protect them when needed. It wasn't necessarily her job to do those things especially at her age, but it was important to her. It tore at her.
- Her peppy attitude is a product of her mimicking her parents and trying to be a pillar of positivity that both people and animals can look to in times of need. However, she never learned how to properly vent her feelings. She felt if she didn't meet expectations, she would be failing the people around her.
- She was a good advisor to the people of Mossmantle and helped out with the village in whatever capacity she could. Making sure animal-human relations were well, communicating with the crops and the land to understand what everyone needed, and handling small ecological threats were normal tasks for Florin. However, one day a child under her watch lost their life. Although it was not directly her fault, she has never forgiven herself for it.
- During her training, her mentors were her main friends and they reminded her of home. One was an older half-elf named druid Ander who was always gentle and patient with Florin. He would never raise his voice. Whenever she made any big mistakes and bawled her eyes out for it, he would hold both of her hands and calmly talk her through it. When she wanted to leave the Reaches, he supported her and told her that it was essential for her spiritual growth.
- The other was a human in her early 30’s named Mara. Serious. Always scowled. Expected much of people. There are few times she would smile, but when she did, it was beautiful. Florin saw many of them. Although she was strict with Florin, whenever the girl asked for a hug, they would.
- In Mossmantle, she had a friend named Krisrath around her age who had a HUUUGE crush on her. She was the only person in the village who never figured it out. For the first few weeks, she would frequently vent to him about her problems, but he quickly ended up being overwhelmed. Although he tried to be supportive, she decided to try and keep it to herself. He died attempting to protect her from a bear.
- Her parents are kind and wonderful hosts. They are the owners of an inn in Varna and are known for having incredible food and service.
- Her mother, Malva Melilot, does most of the managing around the inn and is hospitality dragonmarked. Outgoing, friendly, and an incredible businesswoman.
- Her father, Anson Melilot, is the head chef. He’s a quiet man who gets his point across in as few words as possible. Wildly passionate about food. Loves his family more than life itself.
- Her departure from the Eldeen Reaches was meant to quicken her growth so she can properly perform her duties and become someone strong enough to protect everyone.
- Being helpful to people is extremely gratifying and makes her feel capable!
- Seeing new sights and constantly being on the move helps further her knowledge of animals and plant life, though over time she has started to become increasingly interested in the affairs of people than wildlife.
- With no one knowing who she is, she feels no one has high expectations of her. She can do what she wishes, have fun, and live freely.
- She will often put others’ happiness before her own.
- Often gets herself into sticky situations, but due to incredible luck or her innate sensitivity to danger, she had yet to face anything that she couldn't handle before joining the Wicked Spinster.
- She wants to see the world. Her dream is to live a life of grand adventure where she has incredible fun. However, she is tethered to her responsibilities at home.
Trivia
Ex-Crewmate of the Wicked Spinster, a notorious pirate crew who saved all of Eberron from the Purist threat and whose captain is the Queen of Regalport.
Blessed by and basically best friends with the Great Druid Oalian, leader of the Wardens of the Wood. He's like an uncle.
Birthday is Olarune 14, 981 YK.
1-man circus and friend of children across Khorvaire. Summons many animals to dance and perform stunts with her. Most well-known trick is summoning 36 owls.
2-time winner of the Wicked Spinster Baking Competition and creator of the Wicked Spinster Relationship Chart.
Florin loves waking up before the sun is up so she can watch the sunrise. Super early bird who wakes up as quickly and efficiently as soldier. She can also fall asleep in most adverse conditions and can function relatively well with little sleep.
Her appearance is often a little disheveled but she always stays clean.
She gestures all of the time, even if her gestures don’t match her words. The way she walks makes it looks like she’s always excited/anxious.

The only reason Florin managed to join the Wicked Spinster in the first place with no fuss is because she just happened to catch Captain Mill too exhausted that day (after a major dragon fight) to kill her. Any other time and she might have been roasted with a shocking grasp, especially after masquarading as a crewmember's parrot for a week or two... but Florin would become an indispensable member of the Wicked Spinster as their sous chef and weaponsmaster. Then she was fired. The captain assured her that it was in Florin's best interest as she's never been suited for pirate life, but she still doesn't understand.
