On January 17th of 2004, Elio Louis was born mere minutes before his sister, Aelia Marie to Belle and Prince Adam. The first two years of their lives were spent within the relative seclusion of the royal residence at Villenueve, and they were meant to spend the rest of their lives there as well. Unfortunately, fate had other plans. As Gaston’s strapping sons advanced toward the palace, hoping to take revenge on Avarielle, Elio and Aelia for the sins of their elder brother Brunelle, Belle and Adam made the wise decision to send them to the Mortal Realm. The twins ended up being sent to California with Ava, though were swiftly relocated to Carcassonne instead. Their other siblings were more fortunate, with Esmeray being adopted by a caring family and Jasiah being taken in by his birth mother. Whatever limited memories the pair had of their life in the Kingdom of Roses were reduced to dreams, and all Elio had of his parents was a silver necklace with a rose pendant; Aelia had a bracelet with a similar pendant.

Most of the sibling’s time between the ages of two and ten were spent at an orphanage in Carcassone, where Elio took up an interest in tinkering and the arts in general. Unlike the social Aelia, the elder of the twins preferred to stick to himself, resulting in him having very few friends; the most he would interact with the others at the orphanage was during field trips, time spent gardening or performing plays. Thus, when the pair were adopted by a man named Jean Janvier, Elio was not particularly emotional about leaving the orphanage. He much preferred the secluded life the man lived, due greatly in part to the fact that he himself was a tinkerer. The life of the three was as normal and provincial as one could be, with the Janviers relying on the earth to provide them with their needs; they lived quite the provincial life.

The family’s life took a turn for the worse when Aelia fell sick and died. Elio took the death of his sister quite hard; he was the moon to her sun, reflecting her positivity and artistic outlook onto the world. The already shut-off child became even more so, only leaving the family’s cottage to attend school and go to the library. Whatever connections he had withered from being untended, though he remained relatively unbothered by this. The son of knowledge also became increasingly irate during this time, and was noted by many of his peers to be generally more ill-tempered and intolerant. Outside of his own desire not to have them, it was likely this which contributed to the boy’s lack of friends, though he’d always managed to make his way through the world without them. Until the twenty-seventh of December, 2021, at least.

the grimm realm.

Elio’s transportation to Grimm Academy came suddenly; he was walking out of a workshop his father had built for him at the back of his home and simply .. entered the Golden Realm. His first few weeks consisted of him growing accustomed to the place—visits to the dragon pits, gardens and forest were quite common. During this time, he first met Serena Arien in the ballroom and the pair had a lengthy discussion; she was nice, but he distanced himself from her—and everyone else that he met, really—out of a fear of growing fond of them. When it came to Isla Kessler and Reilly O’Connor, however, the boy had no trouble avoiding them, as their personalities simply did not match.

On his seventeenth birthday, Elio was claimed as Prince of Villeneuve — a son of Belle and the Beast. His adjustment to his revealed parentage took quite some time, and was not aided by the fact that Aelia’s music-box, one of the only items he had left of his sister, was broken; his grandfather had restored it, of course, but the Minor Epic had a penchant for holding grudges. Such as that he held for Lucian during their first few meetings; the son of Diaval did something Elio did not like, and he quite literally lost it, transitioning into his Beast state for the first time while also promoting the boy’s transformation into a crow, all in front of Serena and others at Jasmine’s Closet. More acquaintances were made in Braeden and Valentine—both of whom were descends of Wonderland, which explained well their .. eccentric personalities! Elio was particularly less fond of Braeden, though that was less out of a dislike of the boy or his personality, and more because of the fact that he was determined to make a friend out of him, and Elio wanted nothing less.

He did find something of a partner in Helena Vasilev, daughter of Megara, during a trip to Cassus. Primarily because she, as well as his brother, Jasiah, Braeden and a few others, jumped to his defense against Reilly and Elliot—a daughter of Anna and Isla’s sisters—who accused him of making fun of her. The trip was defined by those few moments, in Elio’s opinion, and helped to define the pair’s feelings toward one another .. more or less. Elio and Helena gradually began to spend more time together, with the girl even spending a night or two at the Belle Cottage, while its patrons —Belle and Prince Adam, at least—were present.

Alongside Braeden and Lucian, the other members of House Aariv, Elio participated in the Wonder Games and placed second; no points were given to his house due to his lack of kills, however, which the boy continues a bias against him. Following their return, it was announced that the head of their house had been found dead, and it was announced that a quest to bring those involved to justice was announced. Helena’s volunteering was the first and final nail in the coffin of the pair’s budding romance. Elio hated the idea of conflict, and more importantly, of someone he loved becoming involved. He stopped loving.

Up until hours spent training together in training and working as king and hand of the academy began to bring forth a relationship with an old acquaintance, Lucian. In the son of Diaval, he found someone that actually cared for him and something that he could actually care for. Time spent as medics at day gave way for hours together at night, with the Aurora Cottage becoming much like a second home to Elio. Especially with the claimings of two new residents of the Belle Cottage—Esmeray, his sister, and Kassius, a son of Gaston. As war crept in, fights at the academy were inevitable. In a fit of rage Elio sent Bryn flying from the window of the training center, while Lucian punched Kassius’ face for interrupting their time otherwise spent well.

At the height of the war, Chernabog’s Champions invaded the academy. With his boyfriend, sister and Kaiya Ravenel Elio took shelter in the library; a futile attempt to protect themselves. Skadi, Bryn and Christine, champions of the master of evil, stormed in nonetheless and fights ensued. Skadi died at Lucian’s hands—an action meant to protect his boyfriend. It — as well as Lucian’s plans to bring her back — put more of a strain on their relationship than anything else. In the concluding days of the war, the pair managed to reconcile; it was an inevitable, as their bond was far too strong to be broken—Elio’s care was far too great. On the twenty-eight of July, a day following Lucian’s fating and supposed disappearance, Elio himself received his fate, working alongside the greatest inventor of Corona; a rather loose ended fate, but one that granted him an eternity with Lucian, who would study medicine and eventually, pursue a career in the field.

• elio hates being in his beast form. he does, however, enjoy being invisible.
• elio dislikes sleeping alone. prior to coming to grimm academy and entering a relationship with lucian, he would sleep with tools in his bed. since, he has made a point to sleep with the son of diaval.
• almaz is his favorite kingdom to visit. villeneuve is second, and corona, his current home, ranks somewhere near the mid-lower tier.
• elio keeps a wooden box that has all of aelia's jewelry under his bed. he wears her bracalet.
• despite their rocky relationship, elio writes braeden at least once a month. the contents of the letters often irritate him, which is why it is a monthly corrospondence.
