Cryptos was originally a scientist who was tasked with studying the "Laser Beam" christmas phenomenon where a bright red laser light had been showing potential in manipulating the atomic makeup of living beings to give them unusual traits like bright green and red pattering or spontanious growth of horns and fur. One day, he had accidently exposed himself to the laser, causing their body to morph into what they are now. After his transformation, he was taken up by Evening Presents as his new subordinate by helping to bring new creatures for them to manipulate into a similar state as Cryptos.
