[ ORIGIN ]

Contrary to classic OFF law, when a puppeteer, in this case, young Sairen, is called upon, they directly enter the game with a physical form and all. Sairen was the lucky player to answer the call of the world's overlord, Vader Eloha, seeking out a puppeteer with pure intentions to help monitor and maintain each of the zones, becoming increasingly infested with heartless entities known as spectres. Although lacking confidence, Sairen feels it to be her duty to take up the job, and is assigned a puppet, the Batter, to help keep each zone purified.

Sairen was quite frustrated and discomforted with the Batter when they first began working together, miffed by his lack of cooperation outside of battle and upset that he really didn't seem to like her much at all. She feared it would not only stunt her sociality, but her effectiveness as a puppeteer as well.

As a result she forced herself to be more upfront and assertive when it came to her partner, insisting for him to spend more time with her despite how little it had to do with their mission. Nonetheless, the Batter couldn't really deny or separate from Sairen, so he agreed, and through this, the two grew closer, lessening the stigma the puppet had.

With the Batter, Sairen had also shown to improve in her social presence, image, and skill, the two bringing out the best in one another and making them a dream team.

They still spend leisurely time together, and if it's possible for them to get any closer, they definitely appear to do so.

Sairen often spends said leisure time visiting Elsens she knows, such as Leslie and Roy, and checking in on the zone's Guardians, as well as the merchant Zacharie and his sister, Sucrose. They are, at times, accompanied by The Judge.

---THE GLITCH---

One day whilst accessing the world, something...odd, occurred. Silence surrounded the Puppeteer, and rather than awakening to greet Batter, he was nowhere to be found. Concerned, she decided to reboot the game, but only found that it caused the world to corrode further. As she sought out her Batter, an overload of Spectres, both stable and not, appeared left and right, and though she could outrun them at first, they gathered too fast for her to keep away from forever.

That's when Knight appeared. With acute precision, he dealt with the impures, saving Sairen. She was whisked off to his home, where she was acquainted with his siblings and friends, and pleaded with the knight for help finding her partner. With him at her side, acting as a temporary companion to guard and guide her, she's forced to search this new, unfamiliar version of OFF for her Batter, facing changes in many of those she once knew, whether appearance or personality-wise.

After travelling through the first three zones, fighting off baddies, purifying the altered Guardians, bonding, making allies, and a variety of other things, meeting and teaming up with Zzz, Marrok, and Degare to seek out and correct the problem. After having to defeat Enoch, a room not meant to be in the game was opened, and there they found Batter, mutated into his 'bad' form that wasn't meant to be accessed in the version of the game present before the glitch. Sairen could barely handle it, but they had no choice but to fight. Upon purifying him, however, he returns to normal much to Sairen's relief.

At this point, they prepare to head out to zone 4 in continuous search of the problem, but are stopped and confronted by Maurice, who had, up until that point, posed as a 'secret merchant' that'd only become present in Sairen's game after the glitch. He confesses to them that the glitch is his fault, as he implemented his characters Verdell and Sherelle into a copy-pasted version of Sairen's game, thus rendering all copies (Sairen's and Maurice's being the only two) affected by the pair's vengeance.

Maurice had been trapped, and sought to make amends with Sairen. Forgetting whatever feud they'd had in the past, Sairen makes up with Maurice, and Maurice requests to be struck down in hopes of leaving the game to return to his real-world body and hopefully fix both copies. Though reluctantly, they do so, but nothing changes. Feeling how close they are to fixing things, the group travels onward to Zone 4, proceeding through until reaching the area at which Eloha would usually be present. Instead, there is nothing.

They were left to poke around for a period of time, and then, out of thin air, Verdell and Sherelle made their appearance in place of Eloha. Sairen and company attempt to start a conversation, but to no avail. The only response Verdell and Sherelle dignify them with is an attack. Thus the battle commenced, and onward it raged, for what seemed like forever until Verdell and Sherelle were successfully subdued in purified. Although it wasn't their intention, the pair of characters thanks Sairen and company for winning, and subsequently fade from existence, much to Sairen's dismay, as she was hoping to learn more about them and perhaps help them fit into their existence.

In a stereotypical but grand flash of light, the game returns to normal, and all is the same as if the glitch never happened, except everyone involved was unfortunately left with all memories from the event. With the traumatic experience having passed, though, most everything was business as usual and everyone proceeded with their lives.

--

Due to a spike in spectral activity, Sairen and Batter became much busier, flooded with tasks. One such task happened to involve the hunting down of an odd, new Elsen possessed by spectres: Ferrand. They pursued the impure as per usual, but, as they reached him, they were faced with not just their target, but their old companion, Knight. Knight refused to let them hurt Ferrand, confusing the pair. Sairen called on Batter to back off for the time being, puzzled by Knight and wanting to learn what was going on. It turned out that Ferrand's actions weren't entirely on his own volition, and he and Knight bonded close, to the point that they were in love. Sairen's heart bled for the forbidden pair, and decided she should take this opportunity to return the favor of Knight's aid during The Glitch.

Thusly, Sairen brought the situation to Dedan, who flat-out refused at first, but was convinced gradually, especially when an appeal was made to Vader Eloha. In the end, Ferrand was put under Dedan's protection, letting he and Knight live happily as such. Sairen feels satisfied with herself for getting over that hurdle.
