Strengths:
Flight: Mac can easily flutter safely down from higher locations, as well as swoop and glide. He can gain some height once he's in the air, but he cannot go straight up from the ground.
Echolocation: Like many bats, Mac can echolocate in order to navigate even when his vision is limited. His echolocation is very accurate within two meters, and has a maximum range of about ten meters.
Climbing: Mac is not the fastest climber, but he can make his way up most surfaces, and has the endurance to cling to things as long as he needs to.
Fangs: Mac has particularly sharp and strong teeth, ideal for gripping.
Weaknesses:
Sheltered: Mac's family is tight-knit, and he's come to rely on them a lot. He's never had to spend so much time away from them before, and knows next to nothing about survival or other creatures.
Sensitive: Mac feels insulted very easily, takes insults very personally, and will remember them for a very long time. This negatively affects his relationships with others.
Weak swimmer: Mac cannot swim well, and tries his best to stay out of the water altogether.
Nocturnal: Mac is noticeably slower and less alert during the daytime.
Personality:
Around people he doesn't know well, Mac can seem pretty quiet and closed off. He has difficulty expressing himself, and tends to focus on listening to what others have to say. That's not to say he always understands what they mean- he can get so hung up on trying to interpret other people's intentions that he ends up making assumptions about them that are completely wrong. He tends not to ask for clarification, just taking his own guesses at the truth.
When he knows someone better, he's more likely to be able to guess what they're feeling accurately. He's still generally quiet, though when he does speak, he's more open and willing to speak his mind. He prefers just being near the people he cares about to lively conversation or exciting activities.
Backstory:
Mac was born in Eremile, and has spent his entire life there.
Mac's parents came to Eremile not long after the birth of their first child, Peanut.
Mac's parents only rarely spoke of their lives before coming to Eremile, and so Mac knows little about the outside world.
Mac feels strongly protective of his younger sister, Almond.
