Jaxi grew up far to the northeast, in a country known as Apohe. Their village was small, self-sufficient, and very isolated. Their connection to the outside world was minimal. Jaxi and their family were the only feathered dragonborn there, even if their plumage wasn't that uncommon in their country. They were always a bit outcast for their different appearance and generally awkward demeanor. Still, they had a happy childhood surrounded by loving family.

One day, they were sent on a small quest with others from their tribe. They were to retrieve some resources further south. However, Jaxi's party members lied to them, telling them that they had distant family down south that they should visit while they were in the area. While Jaxi was distracted looking for family that didn't even exist, their party gave them the slip. Jaxi got desperately lost, being young and unaware of the world. Luckily for Jaxi, they eventually ran into an older dragonborn named Fruit Squish, whom they latched onto instantly, assuming he must be the "distant relative". In the few years since, they've been happily tailing their "Uncle Squish", whom they may or may not actually be related to, and followed him about on his archaeology missions.
