Story
Found as an egg near a destroyed hive, Cercus was a worker changeling in his adoptive hive, doing ordinary work aside the more specific military/food recovering commissions. Despite being an outsider, he wasn't treated differently in terms or workload or food, but higher-status members, as well as some fellow workers found him untrustful. Prejudicies, yaaay. When he became an adult and learned about the existence of ponykind, he became interested in them. His research made him wonder what would a live of coexistence be like, and created his own utopia revolving this idea. When other members of the hive discovered this, he chased out of the hive and exiled from their territory. After many weeks of traveling, he stumbled upon the land of equestria, where he found a cloud-builded house hidden behind one of the rainbow waterfalls of cloudsdale. Thinking it was uninhabited, he went inside to rest his wings and see if he could make it his own hidding spot. To his surprise, a pony came in! She was kind enough to let him stay until rested, but as days went by, they became friends and eventually he stayed with her for good.
Nowadays, Cercus has grown up to pony-level and developed his magic to do more than simply copying other ponies' physical appeareance. Apart from his natural shape-shifting he can use simple levitation and developed his very own cloaking spell, which allows him to disguise his true form as a ponyfied version of himself rather than impersonating others. Unfortunately, he's been unable to figure out how to recreate either wings or a horn, so he appears to others as an earth pony. He still can use his magic and fly while hidden, but of course avoids doing so. His eyes glow fuchsia whenever he levitates something while in disguise. He stays most of his days inside, reading every book he can find about the past and present of ponies and their relation with changelings, trying to figure out how his kind could feed without becoming parasitic.
