Xavier

Being an orphan stuck in unfavourable conditions for most of his childhood, Xavier grew up being used to working for his worth and accepting whatever he could do just to get by. This, coupled with his ability to learn quickly and tendency to keep silent about his employer's affairs, led to him attracting the interest of a group of people involved in illicit activities. They were his sole source of employment for a few years and actually treated him rather well, if only for the dirty work that they relied on him to do.

Xavier eventually "broke away" from the group out of his own volition; negotiating his way out in exchange for agreeing to continue taking work on a freelance basis. He is still under their supervision and monitoring because he knows too much for them to let him go completely, but doesn't mind much as long as they don't bother him directly.

Mostly indifferent and tries not to show anything through his emotions, therefore seemingly cold outwardly. He actually feels a lot more than he shows; even some of the work that he does makes him disgusted at himself, but his bottom line is already rather low due to the influence of his actions over the years. Rather thrifty and tries to save as much as he can (the only exception he makes is when he buys cigs).
