ABOUT

Orphaned by parents she never knew, Lydia Tristen only had her name as a momento of them. Not only that, but her race made everything more difficult for her, from socializing with other kids to interacting with potential adopters who were looking for children. A glance at her would cause them to quickly look away, and she knew adoption wasn't going to be for her.

So she ran.

At the age of twelve, she left the orphanage and wandered until she found a small, abandoned shelter to call home. Food and money were scarce at first, but it took time and managing her resources that she became well-stocked.

When she was thirteen, however, she began to hear the rumors of Joey Drew Studios. An abandoned studio, apparently home to a massacre, as well as a terrifying monster within.

Curiosity drew her in, and it wasn't long at all before she was entering the studio, making her way down to the lower levels. It wasn't hard to notice the sight of the graffiti or the signs of the Dancing Demon himself ---- but her biggest surprise was the creature known as the Ink Demon.

He had been skulking the halls, and Lydia had kept as quiet as she could, before realizing that he was blind. And so, she followed him, keeping her breath held until she couldn't resist asking a question.

"The Ink Demon ---- is that you?"

"Shit!" The demon had turned around to the sound of her voice, before his head tilted, and he leaned closer. "...how long 'ave you been followin' me?"

"A while. Probably back in the toy department."

"Down tha' far? Kid, ya shouldn' 'ave even walked through those doors, let alone find yer way down 'ere. Too dangerous fer a kid like you."

"Other than the weird shadow thing you have going on, you haven't really done anything this far, Mister Ink Demon."

And that was the start of a rather odd friendship ---- although Blight did protest at first at Lydia's insistence, there was no denying that he did find her companionship rather pleasant, even nostalgic. Meanwhile, Lydia couldn't help but find comfort in how the Ink Demon seemed to toe the line between "friend" and "guardian" to her, even despite his terrible mannerisms ( cursing in front of a child isn't a good influence, Blight! ).

However, Miracle was growing bored of the standoff between demon and angel, and Lydia was doomed to become a victim of the small demon's unpredictable whims.
