history

her eyes opened at the dawn of time, when the stars were born and “space” was still a work in progress. her purpose was clear, her love for her children vast and nigh-endless, and there was nothing that she loved more than to create and flourish with the stars.

her first “mission” given to her by the gods was a simple one, and although she enjoyed seeing earth in its earlier stages, the presence of humanity didn’t pique her interest until ancient greece.

then she met sappho.

a lovely woman whose words wove such intricate imagery, she allowed herself to be first named “asteri”, a name that would later be held only for those who she allowed herself to be close to, those who she gave her heart to. yes, sappho had taught her how to be human, how to love, and the goddess wanted nothing more than to behold it over and over.

but humanity is not so kind, and when she next returned, she who had been named “star” found that the world advanced itself to wars of devastating proportions, battles that waged for years on end, and there was nothing she could do but complete her objective —- interference was FORBIDDEN.

it was then that she learned to distance herself from those she had held such curiosity for. there was only the objective to be completed on earth, before she could stay with the stars and long for sappho’s voice once more.
