Black Spinel

A gem who was recently uncorrupted, she was once a part of the Crystal Gems after fleeing from her "owner", a member of White Diamond's court known as Mintabie Opal.

While under her owner, she was very much similar to post-Code Betty Boop; that is, she was a tidy little housewife who relied on puns and clean humor in order to escape punishment from her strict owner.

While with the Crystal Gems in the first time around, however, she became more relaxed and able to pursue herself freely. While certainly not as full-on sexual as pre-Code Betty Boop, she still showed a flapper-like appearance ( think Barbara Stanwyck or Josephine Baker ).

During the Era 3 rebellion, however, she's taken more fancier appearances with more accessories; she has a great desire to be something more than she used to be, especially since she suspects that Mintabie wasn't held accountable for her actions ( much like the Diamonds and, hell, a lot of higher-up Gems ).

Her gem is an oval similar to her owner's, except it replaces her right eye.

Unlike the Spinel we know, Black Spinel isn't able to stretch to extreme lengths; however, she is very adept at ventriloquism and shapeshifting her form's appearance. While she CAN do the stretchy thing if she wants to, this isn't the main purpose of her shifting abilities, and she generally tended to wear "costumes" for her performances.
