Personality:  

Much like any other Kappa Kyusenbo loves causing mischief. Sometimes she can be rather carefree and not care much about what others think and sometimes she is rather stubborn. As Kappa in general are rather smart this means Kyusenbo is as well perhaps more so than some of the average kappa. She, again like other kappa, is fiercely honorable and will never break a promise, as a heroic spirit this means she will also gladly die for her master if that is what it takes to protect them.

Bio:

Originally from China, Kysenbo was the head kappa of the Yellow River. Eventually crossing the ocean to Japan with her family. She took up refuge in the Kuma River in the Kyushu region where she took up power and spread her clan of kappa that eventually grew to 9000 which is how she got her name.

Due to kappa sometimes being mischievous and troublesome it is no surprise that some members of Kyosenbo’s clan were creating problems around the waters they lived in. Tired of the Kappas' actions, Kato Kiyomasa decided to do something about them. Kato Kiyomasa gathered the monkeys from all across Kyushu to help as the monkey’s would have been able to see the Kappa even if they went invisible. Eventually Kyusenbo and his kappa clan were defeated and they retreated to the Chikugo River.

The local Suitengu as Chikugo River gave mercy to Kyusenbo. So long as Kyusenbo didn’t create problems for humans she would be able to live there peacefully. Kyusenbo took this to heart and no longer bothered humans and in fact worked to protect them from floods. Eventually they became venerated as seen as messengers or deities of small shrines in their honor.

Another tale of Kyusenbo is of her conflict with another kappa called Neneko Kappa. They fought for control over the tone river. In the end, it was Neneko Kappa who won.

Also Neneko Kappa and Kyusenbo where married but then they got a divoice ( this isn’t canon to the mythology )

Kyusenbo also shares almost all other traits associated with Kappa. Such as a love of cucumbers and sumo wrestling. She is an excellent swimmer. Is also fairly intelligent. Other physical traits of kappas don’t really appear as much in her human form. Such as her arms being connected ( if you pull on one arm it will grow longer as the other shortens ) and 3 buttholes ( i am not gonna lie i just wanna pretend this isn’t a thing i am not an ass person ).

Kappas favorite food is said to be cucumbers. It was an old tradition that a family would write their name on the first cucumber and send it down the river to appease the kappa’s and protect their family from them. Kappa’s are so connected with cucumber that cucumber sushi rolls are called Kappamaki.
