Luther LaGrand

Born and raised in Central Zuzu City, Luther spent the first twenty-two years of his life in the concrete jungle—one that became his cage.

Born to Mildred and Landon LaGrand, the latter was not a present force in Luther's life, dedicating himself to business overseas and leaving Mildred to raise Luther alone. Despite this separation and his own previously estranged status, it did not deter Landon's father and Luther's grandfather—Lucius LaGrand—from stepping up as a positive force in Luther's life.

At eleven years, Luther was involved in a near-death accident which left his ribs broken and lungs punctured. The accident was so financially devastating, his mother had to rejoin the workforce to attend Luther's medical costs. After years of medical care and rehabilitation (including shortly living in the valley with his grandfather to help strengthen his lungs once again), Luther was eventually able to sustain himself alone—on top of financially supporting his mother; a debt he was raised to believe he owed after his accident.

With the sudden passing of Lucius upon Luther's eighteenth birthday, he threw himself thoughtlessly into his work. Between maintaining his new position with Joja Co. and balancing his studies in business and law, he turned to many self-destructive habits; primarily, smoking.

Upon his twenty-second year, he abandoned his position at Joja Co. with hardly a word, as well as suddenly dropping out of law—while he still had business degrees to show for his education, he chose to turn from the path of a businessman entirely. On top of his work and studies, he walked out on his mother, who upheld transphobic ideals, along with outdated philosophies which taught Luther to feel as if he owed her for her obligations as a mother who chose to bear a child.

Taking up his late grandfather's offer—a deed left to Luther—he took to the valley and never looked back.

Luther LaGrand currently resides on Goldenspine farm, and has sustained himself alone for five years.

• Suffers from Narcolepsy with severe cataplexy.
• Has chronic pain from his accident, occasionally is struck with coughing fits.
• Acts aloof and rather ignorant despite his education—does not want the expectations of others to be pushed onto him.
