this is a big swamp of info until i get a theme irdjfh

Somerled, also known as Sumarlið, is a spy and a terror for the Roman Empire. He brings information to which ever side asks for it. Born in a village in the northern lands, Somerled was a boisterous child with a big personality. The same could be said for his friends Freyda, Ivar, and Aneska; the four were known trouble makers and wreaked havoc on the small town. Though known for getting in trouble-- and loud as he was,-- he was sneakier than any of the small group had the right to be. One of their favorite past times would be having Somerled sneak into an old man's orchard at night and steal fruit for them to eat. Whenever they all got caught, they would have to work for the old man, much to the mild resentment of their parents ( they had jobs with their family, they didn't have time for dawdling ).

The eldest of two siblings, his little sister got along well with Freyda's little sisters as well as Aneska's brothers.

When the western Roman Empire came a calling to his villager, he and the group of four, ages ranging from 15-17, were all forced to join for be killed in front of their parents, as an example. They were all taken from their families, and put in a centuria under a man by the name of Manius Septius. The centuria was made of all of the "unwanted" races-- tieflings, orcs, the drow-- anyone who wasn't considered sightly by the Empire.

While Freyda and Aneska were forced into mending clothing and cleaning armor, Ivar and Somerled were forced to the front lines, where they learned quickly how to survive. After some time as auxiliaries, barely more than slaves, Freyda was learned to be a fierce fighter with a terrible temper, and Somerled was learned to be a great rogue. Gone were all of their loud personalities and big smiles-- the only thing remaining were hard lines on their faces and long off stares.

In 446 ad, he was brought to Milan to officially become a spy. While he may be under the main employment of the Western Roman Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire uses him to their advantage as well.

Somerled is a rather quiet fellow, trained in spy work, and more willing to listen than to speak. It's easier to get information listening, than it is speaking. He knows more languages than he knows what to do with, including the useful language of body language. That doesn't mean he still doesn't have bouts of energy that he hasn't had since he was a kid. Somerled's good at putting on a mask, and uses that whenever he can.
