Perry is a ghost that haunts the RED base! technically both, but he prefers RED. Having been a very weak ghost, he can't really possess much or move things around, so he remained a wandering spirit until meeting Eyelander.
The idea of possessing a cool weapon immediately struck him as the best one, "that's sick!" And he took up an old sword as his own. Doing such provided an anchor for his soul and solidified his being into something of a more tangible ghost, and he finds it really, REALLY cool.
