learned to change fur when little bc he was nonverbal and had to communicate emotions!  during his early teen years, he started to talk (still selectively mute) and automatically switched his fur, which proved to be very embarrasing and he was bullied for it.  he gained control of his emotions around 16yo!  he lets his fur do its thing around people he loves, though.
