Libra

Resourceful and curious. The daughter of a Master Shipwright and Ship Captain, an intrepid explorer, and a part-time songbird with a voice that could charm the gods.

Her mother is rumored to have been a pirate and a siren, accounting for Captain Mallack’s returning from sea with a babe and no mother, and for the girl’s singing voice. Giving the rumor even more credit, the girl’s only gift from her mother is a vibrant red coat which belonged to her, heavily embroidered in black and gold and crimson, and fashioned in an elegant and expensive but distinctly piratish style.

It remains one of the fanciest things that Lark owns, as, with as much climbing of ships and trees and mountains and rooting around in caves and jungles as she does, fancy clothing would be completely impractical, despite her father’s wealth being more than able to provide such fineries should she have want for them.

As such Lark has a very practical and low-key style, linens and cottons, airy and light things that are easy to move in, with the exception of any warmer layers she might require. She does have a certain affinity for ruffles, however, and finds ways to incorporate them where possible. She makes a fair few of her own clothes, and crochets anything she might want to use for finery, like shawls and long vests.

She is well-studied in the art of survival and in many crafts, including leather-, wood- and metalworking, thanks to her father’s occupation and her eagerness to learn about it. She knows more about ships than most men and sails like she’s one with the Seas. She has a fair hand with charcoals and watercolors, and often keeps art journals documenting her travels. Quality, leather-bound journals with thick papers, and art supplies are among the few luxuries she allows herself.
