Wow I'm so funny and good at names. Ryu works in the Azure Branch of the SDF alongside Kaz and Schwarz. He fights as a ranger, but he feels like he’s better at hand-to-hand combat. He avoids it though, because all too often he’ll come into contact with a sword user, and he hates swords. He’s close enough with the other members of his branch, but he prefers to spend time with his little circle of artists outside the SDF. He firmly believes that speech is to only be used for important things, so he doesn’t speak often. When he does it’s always something thoughtful, of just an answer to a riddle he’s been puzzling over.

Weird hand
One hand has claws for some reason. Okay the real reason is that I can't draw normal hands normally.

Tail!!
Nice and fluffy.

Schwarz
(Teammates)
Schwarz reminds Ryu of his little sister, so he holds a certain fondness for her. They aren’t often together on the battlefield (Schwarz prefers to stay near Kaz, the one who causes all the damage usually), but when they’re hanging out at HQ they can often be seen together. Ryu loves to listen to Schwarz’s stories (even the seemingly pointless ones) and challenge her with word puzzles.
"She is like a sibling to me, and so I feel a need to protect her. Usually the opposite happens though, since she’s the one with the healing abilities.”
Kaz
(Teammate)
You would think that Kaz’s brash personality would clash a lot more with Ryu’s more chill demeanor, but they get along surprisingly well. Kaz really can befriend pretty much anyone, I suppose. They don’t do too much together outside of SDF business, but when they are together there’s no uncomfortable tension between them. A low bar, but it’s substantial enough for Ryu.
