Xiaoyan

A wink and a carefully woven compliment can go a long way... she wears a smile as her armour and wields gossip like a knife. Xiaoyan might enjoy the act of acquiring wealth and view bartering as a hobby but she could never be a miser. Money slips through her fingers like fine sand, squandered on spoiling her friends or on the next pretty thing that catches her eye.

The hard life her family has led in the past has tempered Xiaoyan's ability to find amusement in the moment, both the good and the bad. Now that they're considered well-off, she's not above using her skills to ensure her own comfort stays a certain way.

This little swallow is always on the move. As she travels, she collects stories and trinkets to add to her hoard. She has a fascination with the macabre and the ironic twistings of fate's fabric. But there's hope, she believes, even in the world's darkest corners. Then again, people will always look for what they wish to see. Perhaps one day she will be reunited with her missing parent and sibling. Until then she'll keep searching.
