Full Name: Maria Lillian Crane

Alias: Levina Arc

Status: Human-turned-mutant (wood turtle)

Date of Birth: February 6th

Age: 20

Occupation: Criminal, technically

– Physical Description –

Body Shape: Average waist, long arms and legs, average shoulders. Flat chest as a turtle, somewhat willowy but toned limbs.

Hair: None; formerly long, bouncy brown hair dyed blonde halfway down.

Eyes: Brown.

Skin: Mostly smooth and soft, with roughness forming at her hands, elbows, and knees due to getting into fights. Her skin color is Dartmouth green (#00703C).

Mutations: Species-based mutation, into a humanoid wood turtle. Side effects remain to be seen, considering that the mutation was performed using man-made mutagen.

– Markings/Tattoos/Piercings/Scars –

Markings: None of note; Maria has once had a birthmark on her upper-left arm, which appears to have disappeared after mutation.

Tattoos: None.

Piercings: Maria once had a pair of pearl earrings; the earrings were taken after her kidnapping.

Scars: Maria has not had any scars; however, Levina bears several on her body due to fights, most located on her shell and arms.

– Likes / Dislikes –

Likes: Sweets, jewels (she refers to them as “baubles”), drawing, training, beating down “fuzz”, making sure her family is doing okay without her

Dislikes: Her mutation, spicy things (“ugh!”), artist’s block, the fact her parents “replaced” her with a son.

Hobbies:

— Gardening: During Levina’s years as a mutant, she’s actually been taking up caring for a few small plants that she’s found around the manholes near her home. She keeps them in pots and uses a sunlamp to provide them with sunlight. She hopes to find some bonsai or something more long-lived and add those to the small garden.

— Drawing: As Maria, she’d taken to drawing casually; as Levina, however, she’s scaled this casual hobby into a near-profession, drawing whatever she can. She is best at still lifes, but will often go for other material if the mood strikes her.

– Combat Information –

Weapons: Her primary weapon is a naginata; however, she does carry a hunting knife in case she is disarmed.

Training: Being mostly self-taught, she has picked up on fighting skills from the Purple Dragons and from her own training. However, she realizes that this isn’t anything compared to formal training.

Strategy: A mostly-offensive combatant, she will focus on taking her opponents down as quickly as possible.

– Family –

Mother: Louise Glaisyer (alive)

Father: James Crane (alive)

Siblings: None when Maria disappeared; Levina eventually learned that, two years later, her parents had a son.

Children: None.

Other Important Figures: Petra Moore, a Purple Dragon and her best friend; Samael, a mutated crocodile who’d recently taken to living with her.

Associates: None.

– History –

Maria Crane was an ordinary girl living in Florida with her family; her father was a businessman who made a good amount of money, her mother was a stay-at-home wife, and Maria had a very satisfying social life.

When she was seventeen, however, she was kidnapped on the way home from school, before being taken to a laboratory where humans were trying to experiment with genetic mutations, varying to little to extreme.

Maria’s experiments were, obviously, of the extreme type.

She was made to handle a wood turtle for several minutes, before some experimental mutagen was tossed on her. Her captors, disappointed at how average she looked, left her to be food for a mutated crocodile.

In her panic, she managed to use the crocodile’s strength in order to beat down the door and escape.

However, it was when she managed to settle herself down somewhat that she realized the full extent of her situation; even if she managed to convince her parents that she was their daughter, she would still never be able to go back to her former life.

With some thought, she eventually decided to hitch a ride to New York City–since she had nobody to tell her no, or to say that she was being naïve, she figured she could do whatever she pleased.

Thanks to an art enthusiast she met along the way, she managed to come up with the name Levina Arc–taking after Levina Teerlinc and Joan of Arc, respectively.

When she arrived in New York, she was still highly unprepared for how she would live; she had no experience in the city, no combat skills, and was a walking talking turtle.

In her first month, she managed to find a home in the sewers under Times Square, fixing it up with stolen items before eventually deciding to get herself a weapon.

In her second month, she managed to steal a naginata from a museum, teaching herself how to use it in a very impromptu manner. With some observation for several months, she managed to teach herself how to fight on the streets, armed or unarmed.

It was half a year into her new life when she met Petra, a human girl who was part of the Purple Dragons. The two girls quickly became fast friends, and continue to work together in order to secure loot.

The three years Levina spent in New York, however, quickly caused her to become disillusioned from her old life, but that is a story for another time.

However, as of late, Levina had become reacquainted with the mutant crocodile that had nearly eaten her–now known as Samael–and the two now live together in Levina’s home under Times Square.
