Compared to most of her family, in particular her parents an siblings, Riku is rather short. In a clan that boasts members typically no shorter than 5' 6”, Riku is a rarity within the family only topping out at 5' 4” as an adult. Her smaller stature was inherited from her paternal Grandmother who was an even smaller 5' 2” at her tallest. She is a spitting image of her father, inheriting his unruly jet black hair, shockingly bright green eyes, and pale skin. She has a slim build, another trait inherited from her grandmother and contrary to the rest of her family, and is rather athletic in terms of physical appearance. She trains quite frequently with her 4 older brothers, and as such her raw, non chakra enhanced strength is more than her smaller frame would suggest.

• Skin: Riku's skin is quite pale, and surprisingly soft. Being as pale she is, Riku does have some freckles dotted across her body. She does not tan well, rather, she burns in the sun. Her scent is typically earthy with vanilla and spice.
• Eyes: Riku's eyes are a vibrant green like her father, and are framed by prominent lashes like her mother. They are wide and clear and slant upwards slightly at the outer corners.
• Hair: Her hair is inky black in color and while it's thick and fluffy, it's also soft and silky. It's straight, but by virtue of it's own volume it fluffs out.
• Body Type: Riku is slim but not thin and would best be described as athletic or sporty. In terms of figure type she's slightly pear shaped, with her figure becoming a bit more pronounced in adulthood.

Personality

Although Riku inherited her appearance entirely from her father, it's not a secret to anyone that knows her that her personality is like her mothers. Riku is loud mouthed, hard headed, and has a knack for getting people to follow her and do what she wants. This is not to say that she can't be kind or gentle, she simply feels there is no point in being timid as a shinobi. As far as her emotional state goes, Riku is quite expressive. She is not afraid to show the full spectrum of emotion, from happy to sad to angry and so on. On a typical day she is bright happy and friendly, but on the flip side she can be furious and vengeful against opponents. The only caveat however, is that she is not very good at expressing romantic feelings. She likes to think she keeps her cool around someone she has a crush on, but in realty she becomes skittish and awkward and blushes more than she's comfortable with; which is not at all. As she gets older she learns to deal with her feelings, but it takes her going to her mother for help before she begins to get a grip on it.

Fears

• Riku's family is very close so one of her top fears is the idea of losing her family in someway be it through death or separation or something of that nature. The very prospect has kept her up at night and even given her a few nightmares, especially the time her father didn't return from his mission the day he was scheduled to. The worst moment for her, when her fears were realized, was during the Pain assault where her oldest brother Isamu was killed trying to protect his wife. It was world shattering for her, and had it not been for her pregnant sister in law Tomoe being there, she would not have continued to fight that battle. Fortunately, he was brought back when Nagato used the resurrection technique, but the moment plays in her head from time to time for the rest of her life and is brought back to the forefront in a horrible way when her son is kidnapped along with Nori and Souren's daughter Hono by Souren's older sister.
• Being a user of earth based techniques, Riku is very in tune with the earth and finds comfort in having her feet planted firmly on the ground, especially if she can be barefoot. As such, the idea of being in the middle of a large body of water where she can't see what's underneath her and not being able to feel the earth around her is a terrifying thought. She doesn't mind swimming at the beach or in a pool or even a river, but the idea of being in the middle of an ocean or large lake would be pure torture to her.
• The techniques Riku uses to fight are heavily reliant on her having full function over all of her body, so for her losing the ability to control her limbs is terrifying. The idea is always lingering in the back of her mind during missions, and just as her fear of losing her family nearly becomes reality, so too does this one. During the war her left arm is badly broken at the elbow during her fight with her reanimated great grandmother. She is healed by her brother Kenta and at a later time the medical division, but just like the memory of her brother “dying” it sticks with her for the rest of her life.
• Another fear of Riku's that she fortunately has not had to experience first hand is disappointing or letting down someone she cares about. As someone who loves fiercely, the possibility of not living up to what the people she loves believe she can do is painful to her. The dread of having this come true pushed her to do everything she could to advance herself as a kunoichi. Becoming a jonin was a sort of “crowning achievement” for her, knowing that her family was highly proud of her for attaining the rank at a young age. The irony of it all was that there never was any kind of “win or be a failure” attitude within her family; Riku developed this fear in response to her older brothers having done so much at young ages and not wanting to be the only one who hadn't.

Likes

• Forests and mountains are almost like a second home to Riku.
• Being around her friends/family is something Riku looks forward to everyday. Even if it's a simple training session or a celebratory dinner after a mission, every social occasion is something to be excited for in Riku's mind.
• Sunsets and nighttime are Riku's absolute favorite time of day.
• Summertime is her favorite time of the year; Although she admits to getting a little excited when the start of autumn rolls around because of her birthday.
• She loves sculpting with a hammer and chisel. It's quite relaxing to her.

Dislikes

• There aren't many foods that Riku hates, but the #1 thing she will never touch is Natto. Her father loves it and will tease her with it anytime he has it.
• Being made a fool of is something Riku hates with a passion. Same goes for being tricked or purposely lied to.
• Riku can not stand bullying. She was always jumping in between bullies and their victims in the academy. It's also why she was kind to Naruto when they were little kids; she saw the awful way the village treated him and couldn't stand it.
• Riku hates winter weather. Fluffy sweaters, hot tea, roaring fires in the fireplace, all that stuff is fine to her. But snow and cold are two things she will loudly complain about every time without fail.
• Along side hating being fooled, Riku also hates to be flustered in anyway. In a hilarious twist of fate, she spends nearly 2 years of her life being flustered whenever she saw Kankuro.

Trivia

• Besides green, Riku's favorite color is purple.
• Riku loves to arm wrestle her brothers and is incredibly proud whenever she beats them. Sometimes they even use their Earth Gauntlet jutsu while doing so.
• She kicks and punches and moves a lot while she sleeps.
• She will fight for the last piece of food on the table if it's something she really likes.
• Riku, and really any member of the clan who can use Infinite Earth, can create small earthquakes simply by punching the ground with the Earth Gauntlets.
• Riku wishes to fight Gaara, purely to see how his sand and her earth jutsu would match up against each other.
