mushbit (wip species)

I've wanted to post something for a while, but keep building ideas without actually finishing anything.
Hence a real rough species concept ref.
SPECIES info:
-Working title: mushbit
-Mushroom + vague rabbit shape + carnivore (teeth/claws)
-Tails always have a single slight bend
-Only organs are mouth to throat to stomach, and mushroom gills that connect to lungs, and a crystalized magic core "heart"
-Only eat once in a very long time; food sits in stomach till fully absorbed (cannot consume bones/teeth/claws/anything not biodegradable)
-Do not have blood and when cut only secrete a small amount of relatively transparent goop
-Size can very from inches (when first "born") to a small mountain (told in folktales)
-Almost all stay around 2-5 feet for practically and maintain that size through
the spacing of meals (and selective choice in size and magical potency)
-Cannot reproduce
-Do not have gender/sex and don't really have the concept of gender
-Prefer a slow and uneventful life, but are generally wanderers
ORIGIN info:
-Are produced from normal mushroom patches that absorb magic overtime and form a core that then separates and becomes a mushbit
-On rare occurrences, the magical cores of other creatures can be absorbed into a mushbit core as it is being formed and create
rare features in the mushbit, that are reflection of the type of creature core absorbed
