Shallow is not one to do things with anything less than her full effort. This includes her emotions. She can often be seen with a range of expressions on her face, and if it shows in her body language it is guaranteed that it is what she's truly feeling. This means that it is easy to guess her mood, but it also means that the emotions she should hide she can't quite push down..
Observant - Quick to notice things.
"Don't go this way! These rocks are loose!"
She doesn't do it on purpose, but it certainly comes in handy, especially when it comes to others around her. Shallow's mind catalogs things that are constants in the world, like the texture of solid ground, or the gait of cats that she knows. As soon as something changes, her mind notices it because it differs from the "facts" in her head.
Decisive - Having or showing the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
"No. If we follow them we're all dead. It's safer to turn around and go the longer way."
Having been out in the wasteland her whole life, she's learned to not waste any time in hesitating. Doing so could have devastating consequences, whether it be for her or others. Knowing that even a second could cost someone their life, she makes choices quickly, most of the time without thinking about what could go wrong.
Honest - Free of deceit and untruthfulness; sincere.
"Shallow doesn't hold back. If she finds an issue, she'll tell you. If she says it's fine, you can trust that it's fine."
She was raised to be honest, and after seeing all the harm that lies can cause, she thinks it's a good policy. The only time she will ever lie is when she thinks it is necessary to keep her or others safe, such as lying to Raiders or those who wish her harm. If there is no honorable benefit to lying, she won't.
Ambitious - Having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed.
"I'm going out there. Try and stop me, I dare you."
Once her heart is set on something, nothing short of tying her down will stop her from pursuing it. If Shallow thinks it's what's best, she'll chase victory with nearly no regard for her own life. Her passion often swallows her, choking out her reason until she sometimes is running blindly after something she can never attain.
Defiant - Showing open resistance/bold disobedience.
"Sure, yeah, whatever. I'll do it, but I don't like it."
Shallow's personal beliefs often conflict with orders other cats give her. Since she values her ideals more than any directions, she will go against what people say because she thinks she is correct. She is also armed with a burning desire to prove herself strong, so it isn't uncommon to see her challenging authority, as long as it doesn't put innocent people in danger or is obviously a foolish decision such as going against Doctor Jericho.
Mannerless - Without good manners; discourteous; impolite.
"Get out of here until you learn to treat my other customers with respect!"
Shallow has some very strong opinions on some things, and doesn't have enough of a filter between her head and her mouth to keep her from saying them. Usually these are harsh judgments or snide comments on others' choices or beliefs. As you can imagine this sometimes lands her in a spot of trouble.
Haunted - Having or showing signs of mental anguish or torment.
"Some days it's as if she's looking at something that isn't there. The morning after.. She's gone."
She doesn't stay in one place for very long. Only a few days in Haven, only a day or so anywhere else. It's like she's running from something that will always find her. If she stays in Haven for longer than she strictly needs to, her eyes cloud, she becomes distant, and she leaves as soon as she can. Something is eating this cat alive.
Summary > Shallow is a long-legged, sleek molly. Her tail is a bit shorter than most, and she's a lot thinner than a cat should be. This is due to her never-ending treks across the wastes, food is scarce out there. She's young and lean, hardly any fat on her body, all sharp angles and bone.
Fur > She hasn't quite lost the softness of her kithood. She doesn't groom often, only if she is going to remain in a safe place for awhile, such as Haven. If you catch her out in the wasteland or just entering Haven, chances are pretty good that she's filthy. Covered in what, exactly, you can't be sure.
Defining Feature/s > Compared to the rest of her, Shallow's eyes are a splash of color. Her left eye, while it looks odd, does not cause any vision impairments. It can be quite unsettling if she stares at you, however, as it looks like you are being watched by three eyes instead of only two.
Scars/Disabilities > Three slashes on the bottom of her jaw, peeking up onto the left hand side of her face. Claw marks across her ribs, and a bite mark on her left hind leg. No one knows where they came from, and asking is met with a different answer every time. If you mention her changing response, she snarls in your face and tells you to back off.
Scent > It's hard to accurately pin down exactly what she smells like, and it often depends on the day. When she breezes into Haven from a good journey, she smells like the wind, and maybe something smokey? She smells wild and free. The days following, as she grows distant, she smells dull, like rust and iron and.. Sorrow.
Affiliation/Setting > Typically the wasteland. As a traveler she is found on paths and in various settlements.
Occupation: Drifter. She makes a living trading the things she finds in the wastes.
Beliefs > There are no outside forces, no spirits to help and guide anyone. When something dies, it is gone, for what can be more peaceful than not existing?
History > Unknown. Will perhaps tells someone she trusts? [Will be updated once someone discovers it.]
Current Life > Shallow spends her days roaming the wastes, avoiding or fighting Raiders and Mutants. She hunts for herself and scavenges among ruins. Anything she cannot use that she finds, she hauls with her until she can trade it for something useful. She is not a stranger to combat, and can hold her own in fights against bigger cats. Most of the time, however, no matter how much she might want something, if there's a Hunter, Mutant, or more than a single Raider, she'll leave it for a later date. She has common sense.
