Early Years
Sun, moon and stars
Aquila is a Sky/Night hatched in the Night Kingdom to his father Dawnbreaker, and grew up there with him. For most of his life, Aquila only had his dad, since interaction with other Nightwings was hard due to his hybridness, but didn't care much about it due to his self-centered personality. Aquila used to ask his father about his mother, but the question was always avoided so Aquila slowly gave up on getting an answer.
Early dragonethood though, his self-centeredness was toned down, but was still there. He met a friend when he was working to become a soldier, and they became pretty close. They worked together on pretty much anything, and both became very strong soldiers.
The Fall
Night, madness and death
During one of their night patrols around the kingdom, the Aquila and his friend met a strange dragon. The appearance was that of a typical Sandwing, but it had an aura of something deeply, horribly wrong with them. They chatted with the strange dragon a bit, with the Sandwing mostly just babbling strange nonsense, but then it snapped when Aquila accidentally provoked it. Aquila was thrown to the side with an abnormal force, hitting on a nearby tree, and when he stood up he saw his friend, impaled by the Sandwing's tail and hanged up high.
He tried to attack the dragon, but he ended up just pinned by the Sandwing like he was nothing. The dragon laughed at him, and cursed him: he would be reborn every time he dies, but it would take his mind away with it with paranoia, hallucianions, losing memories and loss of perception, and after that, Aquila was knocked uncounscious. He then woke up at the healer's den, and was told he and his friend's body was found by other guards when they havent returned after their shift.
Current times
The hunt for a mad god
After the encounter with the strange dragon, Aquila became extreme paranoid of anyone around him, and and became obsessed into finding that dragon again. He left his job as a soldier and now roams all around the continent in search of the mysterious Sandwing he met that night, to get rid of his curse, and avenge his fallen friend. During his travels around the continent, while passing across the Mud Kingdom, he found a severely injured Mudwing collapsed on the forest floor. Even though extreme paranoid, he still tried to be honorable, and brought the Mudwing to the nearest town in order to get their injuries treated.
The dragon, though visibly still a bit shaken and scared of Aquila, presented themselves as Everglade, and that she fled the Mud Palace after an unforseen attack. During the travel, they end up imprinted on eachother. Aquila originally was just going to leave her at the town and continue on his way, but ended up relenting to the small Mudwing, and ended up bringing her along for the hunt.
