Plantkin (Race)

Plantkin is proby my fave thing about this world, not gonna lie <3

Plantkin  are peaceful, naturebound, magical beings created by Mother. They  either live in nature where they dwell from water and sunlight or they  settled alongside the insects in their cities, benefiting from their  luxury and advantages. Even tho they do not despise technology they  never lost their connection to nature.
They have the ability to  communicate with each other and with the flora around them over their  roots, giving them the blessing to communicate with Mother. All of them  posess magical abilities in one way or another, depending on how  talented the individual is on acessing them.
Plants come in all  shapes and sizes, they can belong to any known breed or even be wild  mixes of everything on the forest floor. While most of them are capable  of speech some are not, restricting them to root- communication only.  While this is fine among their own kin it can lead to issues with bugs.  Rumors say that there are bugs who are able to hear these hidden root  communications tho. 

Among the insect-led society they are often  overseen and expierience disadvantages in regards of equality. Sometimes  insects seem to forget that they are the closest thing to children  their god has - good for them plants are exceptionally peaceful.
Plants  will always stand up for each other and even for ecosystems in need of  help. If a forest would appear to die no plant would hesitate to give  her sentient life to heal nature with their energy. They are very aware  that they are just a bunch of lucky plants that were gifted with a  sentient mind and motion and that it can always be up to them to  sacrifice their advantages for a higher purpose.

There are two  general sexes among them; female and intersex. It's very rare that  there's a male-only plant, however they are usually very flexible in  what gender they identify as. Using "They" is always a good way to start  with, if it matters to an individual to have a different pronoun they  will say so.
Usually plants have no name as they usually have no  parents - they just randomly grow somewhere. Sometimes a loved one gives  them a name but they are usually called by their breed. A mixed breed,  (offensively called "Weed") goes by the name "Faun".
