MeadowClan
MeadowClan is a young clan formed of loners who got tired of living alone. They still see each other as neighbors, not yet family. Though they lack experience in clan life, they make up for it with sheer enthusiasm. There's an infectious energy of joy and innocent hope in the air.
But how long can it last?
To prevent crowding and food shortages, the clan is split into a main camp and sub-camps. Patrols are organized so that they move throughout the territory, ensuring prey isn’t taken solely from one area. They hunt a variety of prey, including small mammals, birds, fish, frogs, and even bugs. During Leaf-bare, fresh-kill is frozen underground.
The clan is looser and freer in organization than other clans. Along with the leader, deputy, and medicine cat, other cats have chosen unofficial roles. Clan members can choose to freely patrol as long as they report it to someone. 2 cats is the minimum for any far outing.
Due to the clan's youth, most of its members don't believe in StarClan. To replace religious brotherhood, Meadowstar has chosen to form bonds through shared festivities and speeches of acceptance. Clanmates are meant to help each other unconditionally and provide in ways loners aren’t used to.
The clan has dozens of celebrations and traditions due to having members from all over the world. A recently established celebration is the Snowfreeze Festival, which occurs when Leaf Lake freezes over. Cats from all camps travel there to skate on the ice.
Main Camp is MeadowClan's core, where paths have been worn through the grass and Meadowstar makes speeches on Vantage Hill. To foster peace and acceptance, apprentices and their mentors live in a different camp each moon. Many choose to settle in the Main Camp once their apprenticeships have ended.
Rogues and loners are allowed to stay in MeadowClan territory and often end up recruited into the clan. These vagrants sleep at the base of Vantage Hill.
Camp Meltwater is on the west side of MeadowClan territory, in the midst of trees next to Meltwater River. They celebrate the Frog Festivals, which occur whenever frog eggs are laid, hatch into tadpoles, and those tadpoles climb out of the water. These festivals happen at least 3 times a year but sometimes much more, to the delight of the younger clan members.
North Camp is on the edge of MeadowClan territory. The air here is more quiet and peaceful than the other camps due to its proximity to the Burial Grounds. This changes once a year in Newleaf, during the half-a-moon-long Redbloom Celebration. The Red Meadow's tulips all bloom at the same time. Everyone in the clan visits to see the tulips at least once during that span of time, usually in large groups while singing songs.
Camp Flower is constantly flooded with the scent of flowers due to the field of Many-flowers that blooms all year round. The air in the camp is usually lazy and calm. During Leaf-fall, wildfire season begins, and the clan needs to be wary of which direction the dry-grass fires go. Once the season ends and the cold begins, there's a celebration.
