The Archipelago

THE ARCHIPELAGO

A solo worldbuilding project by me, pulling inspiration from the likes of stardew valley, harvest moon/story of seasons and rune factory for themes with the added bonus of an interest in sea exploration/location discovery.

Information

Residents are vastly straight up humanoids, with the typical variation expected of such. There is a magical pupulation thriving on Castelia, and other humanoid species can be found living on the various islands and/or migrating from distant towns and villages on the mainland.

I am always looking for characters for this world! It's my idyllic little comfort verse. With the exception of wildlife, I'm specifically looking for human(oid) characters, no anthros!

Looking For: Castelia

Witchy Characters

- I wanna get the witching village a bit more populated. Younger, older, male, fema - if you've got a character with magical vibes I'm down. I'm wanting to get a few students for the magic school so younger (up to teenage) characters would be good for that!

Looking For: Danforth

We'll figure this out at some point, all my attention has been on Castelia Island os far! But the kind of characters that would suit Danforth would be, well, typical people. Nothing specific here!

Looking For: Misc

Pirates - I'm looking to work on the pirate crews that roam the seas surrounding the many islands of the archipelago. Characters with pirate/rogue/thief vibes would be good for this. Also looking for on-land ne'er-do-wells.

- I'm looking for interesting somewhat fantastical ferals (and maybe some of real species) to populate the archipelago as wildlife! I'm not looking for closed species, as I would like to be able to have more than one of a given species! (Exceptions may be made, very very tentatively - if I really like a CS I may be willing to consider the idea of an animal being "the last of their kind".

Castelia Central

A medium-sized island and town, with a touch of magic in the air. A great place for farming and gardening of all kinds. Many people here have magical capabilities, if only because of the land's natural mana source.

Violet's Flowers

A small flower shop tucked in to a corner of the town center, ran by Violet and her friend Matthew.

Castelia Central General Store

A catch-all general store inherited by the current owner after his father's passing. He... tries his best to keep things stocked, but isn't the best at it.

The Explorer's Guild

The Cascadia explorer's guild is partnered with the guild in Danforth to expand the two towns' horizons, metaphorically and literally.

Witching Village

Tucked in to the depths of the ashen woods is a small village of witches and warlocks, a castle nearby no longer marking the home of a previous human monarch but instead being the local witchcraft academy.

The Academy

Talk abt the academy here. Talky talky talky talky. It only has a small population of students and staff right now unfortunately.

Goddess Falls

A small waterfall at the end of the ashen woods' river that overflows in to a crystal clear basin. It's said to be the home of the goddess, who may bless luck upon those who offer to her. A shaman lives in the cave behind the falls.

Castelia Beach

A cozy little beach, featuring an awesome spot to fish, a lovely little restaurant, and the docks in which the ferry arrives and departs twice daily.

Residents

Violet

, owner of the flower shop.
Matthew, flower shop assistant.
Taz, the geeky coffee-addicted manager of the general store.
Arthur, a newcomer to the island.
Amelia, a young gardener in a hamlet just outside Castelia.

Mage, apothecary owner and healer in the witching village.
Unnamed, son of one of the witches.

Needed Residents/Locations

The shaman
A blacksmith
Staff/students for the witching academy
Some kind of cafe + owner.
Guild apprentices and senior explorers.
A big city on the mainland. Magic is essentially unheard of, only found in those who have travelled from the islands/been born innately magical. There is a big mine outside the town that supports a large part of the population.

Downtown

The central location of the city.

Clinic

A clinic attached to the local hospital, selling potions and medicine to those in need.

The Explorer's Guild

The Danforth explorer's guild is partnered with the guild in Castelia to expand the two towns' horizons, metaphorically and literally.

Danforth University

A relatively large university sitting in the middle of the city, offering out degrees to those willing to put the work in to it. Attacts many students from the islands, as well as many who come from outlying mainland towns and cities.

Danforth Mines

The large mine that employs a relatively large part of the city's population. There is a civilian entrance open to anyone who dares to venture forth.

Danforth Port

A ferry service waits on the docks, setting out for Castelia twice a day.

Residents

Troy, explorer's guild journeyman.
Unnamed, a local jeweler who works in tandem with the blacksmith and a local mining team.

Needed Residents/Locations

Blacksmith/Mining Team
Ferryman

Downtown

Talk abt the pirates here.

The many many other islands. Ideas for them will go here. Fleshed out once inspo hits.
