Their relationship is mostly tied to business, but they also get along well in conversation. (Editing still) Despite it not being his reason for stopping by, Adair knows the power of gossip and some of the information heās learned from Fione has been useful in the pastā¦ and in exchange, Fione gets some information about which faces about town have ended up stopping by Adairās shopā¦ he never tells her their purchases, of course, but any lilā drop of gossip creates a ripple so she still values it.
Still, itās probably a bit unnerving how well Fione seems to be able to predict what he needs from herā¦
Adairās shop is the only one that Beckett would call himself a loyal customer to- because itās the only one he can visit no matter what continent of Griffia heās in. He always gets a little starstruck when he enters his shop- the mysticism and spiritual/magical energy fills every nook and cranny. It was overwhelming at first, but now it gives him a sense of belonging. (āIt knows me.ā Is how he put it to Adair once.)
Beckett appreciates Adairās attentiveness when helping him find things. At first their conversations were mostly one-sided, with Beckett listening with interest to Adair. As their conversations began to move from small talk and Adairās products to alchemy and magical theory, Adair started asking for his opinion more. Slowly their conversations have become less one-sided, and though Beckett still speaks bluntly, sometimes he finds himself talking with Adair listening intently.
There are few folk in the world that Beckett can fall into an āeasyā conversation with, few that scratch the surface of the depth hidden under Beckettās blunt words and stony expression. Adair, it seems, is one of them.
Considers him a loyal customer and enjoys his visits, despite his colder demeanor. Beckett always says what he means, and Adair appreciates his candidness. Loves to hear his opinion on his newest store offerings.
