Silverthorne
Super old OCs made during high school (so, we talking 7+ years ago). So many OCs to dig out of the toybox and refurbish, and a horror world to revamp.
The world of Silverthorne is dominated by alien forests and politics of Outsiders - those who live outside the forest - and Insiders - those who, rather by their choice or by force, live within the forest. While these growths go by several different names around the globe, as there is seven (and growing) recognized origins across Earth, Silverthorne is a section in the midwest United States, encompassing much of the land south and west of the Great Lakes.
The culture within Silverthorne is divided and grows even more tense with the introduction of a mysterious power head known as The Paramount. As The Paramount strives to overtake all, the smaller factions of the forest now need to either band together, submit and admit defeat, or face total eradication.
A limited Syndicate, it's members are composed of family members of proven Mahnyik descent, a Hungarian noble family from the Renaissance who was eventually dominated by Russian relatives. The family today prides itself on its Russian heritage and united powers across all forest growths of the world. Those that live in Silverthorne operate as if they are a native royal family and, unsurprisingly, are respected as such. They are only allowed to reproduce with other "nobles" or worse, with each other.
Lead by the matriarch, Luda Pastir, who lives in Russia.
Partners with the Old World Union in Europe and the Southern World Union in Australia, this Syndicate is explicitly a public identity for those who moved into Silverthorne from Eurasian origin or Eurasian descent. Their membership acceptances are incredibly picky and historically bigoted. The NWU is a large and influential Syndicate spreading across Silverthorne, but is not the most powerful.
Lead by Mortus Ave Verum.
The youngest recognized Syndicate, it is comprised of mismatch members with not much common ground other than they do not want to be involved with the growing strive of the forest and hold higher mercy towards Outsiders. They are becoming an increasingly common target by other Syndicates and The Paramount due to their assumed weakness as a group.
Lead by Almus Yehuda.
A large, growing, and possible the most powerful Syndicate, dedicated to the rise and rule of The Paramount across Silverthorne. These members range from casual conversation supporters to dangerous fanatics, some going as far as to claim The Paramount is the forest’s personified religion, making The Paramountcy its holy soldiers and martyrs. There are several sub-Syndicates who may not claim they are a part of the Paramountcy, but are recognized nonetheless. They have extreme views towards Outsiders and smaller Syndicates.
Lead by The Paramount and recognized co-leaders.
A small Syndicate branch that once started as a therapy group, now operating in favor of The Paramount. Their members are unified by a common origin point of being escaped, rejected, or abandoned government-funded experiments and projects.
Led by an individual code-named Queen.
Rare in Silverthorne are individuals who do not belong to a Syndicate in some way, and yet there are those who manage to squeeze past the barrage of membership opportunities and indoctrination. These individuals are, more times than not, labeled as heretics to their own forest home and allies with Outsiders. It is a well known practice for the Unaffiliated to lie about their Syndicate status to avoid persecution.
