A Season of Shifts

It’s been a few months since my last transmission, and life has been moving in quiet, steady ways. I’ve been continuing to redecorate my apartment, slowly reshaping it into something that feels more like me. I also tried keeping daily logs in the server for a while, but I’ve decided to step away from that entirely. Not everything needs to be documented in real time, and lately I’ve been letting myself just exist a little more.

Alongside that, I’ve also made the decision to scale back Event Horizon’s activity. The server isn’t going anywhere—it will remain open—but I’ll be shutting down most of the general chat channels. It’s been quiet for a while, and rather than forcing activity, I’d rather let it exist as a simpler, more intentional space. What remains will be focused, easier to navigate, and still open for those who want to be there.

At the same time, I’ve found myself pulled back into Second Life in a big way. I’ve been actively roleplaying again—this time in a community sim as my dog characters—and it’s been genuinely refreshing. There’s something really comforting about slipping into those spaces again. I’d honestly love to see more familiar faces there, so if you’ve ever considered trying Second Life (or coming back to it), come find me. I miss having friends to explore the grid with.

New Responsibilities

Real life has also gotten busier in the best and most exhausting way—I’ve brought home a new puppy, and he’s quickly taken over most of my time. Training, routines, and just keeping up with his energy has been a full-time job on top of everything else, but I adore him. Between that and the constant weather whiplash here in South Dakota—blizzards one day, sun the next, then back to snow—it’s been… a lot on my body and mood. I’m doing my best to stay balanced through it.

Financial Strain & Open Offers

I want to be honest here: I’ve been going through a rough patch financially. Work has been steady, which I’m grateful for, but it hasn’t been quite enough to stay comfortable. Because of that, I’m once again pointing toward my character sales as my main focus right now. If you’ve ever considered picking something up, it would genuinely help me out more than I can say.

I’m also opening up something simple and accessible: pay-what-you-want doodles. Send me a character and whatever you can afford, and I’ll draw them—no pressure, no strict pricing. Just something small to help keep things moving while still creating.

This isn’t the easiest thing to write, but I’d rather be honest than pretend everything is fine. If you’re able to support, share, or even just boost my work, I appreciate it deeply.

Closing Note

Emotionally, it’s been a heavier stretch—but I’m still here, still creating, still trying. Work keeps me grounded, my animals keep me going, and my worlds are still very much alive in my head even if I’m quieter than usual. I’m hoping to return to regular monthly transmissions as things stabilize.

New Year, Clean Orbit

Not a new me—just a fresher start. The remodel’s underway, the apartment’s clearing out old air, and I’m leaning into earthier things—plants, sunlight, crystals on the windowsill. The brightest change is tiny and perfect: Floki, my four-month-old kitten, has joined the crew. He’s all long fur and tiny white toes, with a big purr and the smallest little meow. He naps like a pro, plays hard when he’s up, and—best news—the other cats already like him. I’m smitten.

I’m learning plant care (pray for the pothos), in the process of getting a new tattoo (a half arm sleeve), and doing the quiet work of shedding the skin of the Wood Snake while I gear up to embrace the Year of the Fire Horse next month—cleansing, decisive, forward. I’ve been a little off the grid while I sand, paint, and reset the space where I spend most of my life. Fewer posts, more grounding. It feels right.

One Dock for Every Story

Instead of scattering my worlds across different servers, I’ve docked all roleplay inside Event Horizon. Even when I’m quieter online, I’m thinking about stories constantly—characters to develop, threads to tie off, new scenes to start, and the itch to draw again. The RP forums are open for small, self-contained scenes (letters, one-shots, short para threads) across ALL my stories. If you want to write, bring a seed (setting/tension) and your pace; I’ll meet you there. Keeping it all in one place means less noise, more follow-through.

If the last year asked a lot, I hope this one gives more back. I’m wishing clarity, calm, and creative spark to everyone who stops by my corner of the internet. Inactivity Due to Remodel Mode

If you’ve noticed me popping in and out less, it’s because my real-life house is mid-remodel. I've been here for a long time now and my apartment is in desperate need for a new look. To keep the momentum (and fund a few upgrades), I’m focusing on character sales instead of commissions right now. I’ve reorganized the entire sales folder, cleaned up tags, and added a whole lot more—fandom kids like MLP, MHA, Lion King, Steven Universe, Hellaverse, and a pile of one-offs who deserve new homes.

I’m also open to character trades, and for some designs I’ll consider art offers depending on style and scope. If you’ve been sitting on a design that feels like “me,” pitch it; I’d rather see these characters used and loved than gather dust.

How to offer: link the character, note USD / trade / art, and include examples or a portfolio if you’re offering art. If you need a hold, say so—communication helps a lot. Reasonable holds may be accepted upon request.

The Pet Dilemma: See The Poll!

I’ve wanted a proper place to showcase my IRL pets and commission occasional pieces of them—especially my cats. The question is how to organize it on Toyhouse so it’s easy to browse and fun to update.

I’m torn between two setups:
✧ One master profile with tabs for each pet.
✧ A folder where each pet has their own page.

Right now I’m leaning toward one profile with tabs because it keeps things tidy and avoids fragmenting across a dozen pages—but I’d love your thoughts.

Closing My Group Servers

This part’s honest: I’m ending my group RP activities, and with it, Hellscape is effectively closing down. It isn’t a time issue—it’s an oxygen issue. In group spaces, my worlds were fading from lack of interaction, and watching that happen over and over torched my motivation. I don’t want to keep pouring energy into rooms where my characters echo back to me empty. It hurts, and it makes writing feel like work I’m doing alone in a crowd.

So I’m changing the format, not the love. I still want to write stories and trade ideas—I’m just moving away from the big, always-on group dynamic. I’ll keep building Shashin Valley, Kalida Plains, Silver City, and Hellscape as universes—posting lore, scenes, and designs—but I’m not going to prop up a stage where no one’s clapping. If you genuinely want to write with me, I’m very open to small, sustainable formats: one-shots, letters, diary entries, scene swaps, or concept passes.

And yes: the Event Horizon Discord still has roleplay forums and character discussion rooms.

Holidays & A New Chapter

This transmission is a little late because December ran on fast-forward—work rushes, gifts, spoiling the cats, and the usual year-end shuffle. Happy holidays and an early Happy New Year to everyone who’s still orbiting with me. I’m taking the new year as a clean page: fewer piles, more intention; less hoarding, more making; and as always, worlds to tend and creatures to set loose in them. Hellaverse RP: It’s Not Dead, It’s Just Waiting for Drama

Okay. Real talk: the Hellaverse RP has been a little… cold. Life happened, people drifted, threads paused. But the Hazbin Hotel show just dropped the first two episodes of the new season and that is literally the perfect excuse to wake this thing back up. If you’ve been sitting on a sinner, hellhound, or Goetia OC waiting for the vibes to return—this is me saying come back.

We still have active plot hooks on the board: Kaz is in jail, we’ve got the homeless kids arc sitting there being sad and juicy, and Slink is under pressure in ways that can spiral beautifully if people actually poke at him. These are all perfect “you can jump in again without feeling behind” style storylines. If your character is a cop/lawyer/goon → visit Kaz. If your character is kind or feral-mom-coded → interact with the kids. If your character is nosy, opportunistic, or just chaotic → bother Slink. You don’t need to reread 40 pages to play; just pick a lane and I will toss you a scene.

Reminder: this server is strictly 18+ and ID verification is required. No exceptions. This is to protect the writing atmosphere and let people actually write Hellaverse-level content without worrying. If you fell off because the RP slowed down, this is your sign to come home. Happy Halloween from a Space Cat

Since it’s the spooky month: happy Halloween to everyone who’s still reading these. I went as a furry black-and-white cat… in an astronaut outfit and it was a whole hit at work, actually. Space cat supremacy. I’ll drop a pic in the Discord so you can see the chaos in action.

If you did costumes, PLEASE post them in Event Horizon → life-logs (SFW) or in the adult life-logs if it was… y’know. A Halloween of the spicy variety. I like seeing what everyone dresses as; it makes the server feel alive even when the month’s been slow.

Yeah, this one’s late. October was just one of those “I blinked and the whole month was gone” months. Second Life — Hazbin Hotel & The Junkyard

I’ve been living my best virtual life on Second Life lately, splitting my time between two homes. The first is the fan-built Hazbin Hotel sim—a bright, cartoony pocket of chaos that perfectly scratches my Hellaverse itch. With a new Hazbin season dropping in late October, the place is buzzing; I’m there constantly, wandering, chatting, and making demonic friends. If you’ve ever wanted to see the world through neon-tinted windows and laugh your way through a hellish skyline, come hang out with me there.

The second is Feral Junkyard Society, where you can slip into a more untamed rhythm and exist as a feral. They even let me set up a tiny public bar—feel free to stop by, lounge, take pictures, and vibe.

I’m also opening feral skin commissions on the grid, especially for Timber Wild avatars (wolves, puppies, wildcats, foxes). If you want a custom look, I’d love to paint one for you. Note that Second Life is 18+.

Saving for a Kazuki Fursuit Partial

Big personal goal: I’m saving up for a fursuit partial of my fursona, Kazuki. I’ve been talking with an artist and I’m determined to make it happen, so all character sales and commission sales are going toward the fund, and I’ve set up a Ko-fi donation drive for anyone who wants to pitch in.

This is one of those long-time-dreams finally getting real, and every little bit helps.

Shashin Valley — Worldbuilding Call for Packmates & Co-Creators

I’m launching a proper Toyhou.se world for my wolf groups: Shashin Valley—a lived-in setting where packs rise, fall, and tangle their histories across seasons. The tone is “wild and storied”: feral characters first, canids by default, with the Valley’s history occasionally brushing against older ages (think dire wolves / sabertooth cameos and traces of human influence). I’d love collaborators who want to build families, rivalries, treaties, and new traditions.

If you’ve been itching to do character dynamics—pack politics, den etiquette, mentorship lines, multi-pack plots—this is your invitation. I’m looking for writers and world crafters who enjoy consistent, character-driven play and light continuity.
